I'm not used to being on this side of the news story, instead of one covering the news, and so this is a bit unusual, but I'm happy to see so many friendly faces and happy to be here, and thank you very much for this large network of wonderful friends at Fox News and in New Zealand and British and American governments who've come to help, and the Palestinian officials who are here today to welcome us back, thank you very much. I just hope this never scares a single journalist away from coming to Gaza to cover this story, because the Palestinian people are very beautiful, kind-hearted, loving people who the world need to know more about. And so, do not be discouraged. Come and tell the story, it's a wonderful story, and I'm just happy to be here and thanks again for all your support."
6. SOUNDBITE: (English) Olaf Wiig, Fox News cameraman freed from captivity:
"My biggest concern really is that, as a result of what happened to us, foreign journalists will be discouraged from coming here to tell this story, and that would be a great tragedy for the people of Palestine, and especially for the people of Gaza. Your story doesn't get very well told because it is difficult to work here, and anything that, any little discouragement, you know, an incident like this, could give a network an excuse not to be here, and that would be a great tragedy for the people of Gaza. You guys need us on the streets, and you need people to be aware of your stories. I can just add my thanks to everybody who worked tirelessly to get us out, and especially Anita (McNaught, his wife).
7. Zoom out as the two journalists leave podium
STORYLINE:
Two Fox News journalists appeared to be in good health after they were released on Sunday, nearly two weeks after being seized by militants in the longest-running drama involving foreign hostages in the Gaza Strip.
36-year-old cameraman Olaf Wiig and 60-year-old correspondent Steve Centanni were dropped off at Gaza City's Beach Hotel by Palestinian security officials.
The pair then met with Palestinian officials, including Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh at their hotel later on Sunday. The three men sat in a circle of chairs at the hotel as crowds of media snapped pictures.
"I just hope this never scares a single journalist away from coming to Gaza to cover this story, because the Palestinian people are very beautiful, kind-hearted, loving people who the world need to know more about," Centanni told reporters.
Wiig also said he was worried that the kidnapping would scare off reporters.
"My biggest concern really is that, as a result of what happened to us, foreign journalists will be discouraged from coming here to tell this story, and that would be a great tragedy for the people of Palestine, and especially for the people of Gaza," said Wiig.
He went on to say that the story of Palestinians living in Gaza doesn't get the coverage it merits "because it is difficult to work here." As he went on, Wiig seemed to be appealing to the various groups in the area to help journalists covering the story to do their job.
Haniyeh also confirmed the kidnappers were from Gaza, squashing speculation that al-Qaida had directed the abduction.

STORYLINE:
Two Fox News journalists were released on Sunday, nearly two weeks after being seized by militants.
Their release has brought to an end the longest-running drama involving foreign hostages in the Gaza Strip.
AP Television footage showed cameraman Olaf Wiig of New Zealand and correspondent Steve Centanni of the US shaken but visibly safe and well.
Before their release, the kidnappers released a further video of Wiig and Centanni to the Ramattan News agency.
"Statements from George Bush like 'we're at war with Islamic fascists' does not help. It is time that the leaders of the West listen to the people, take notice of the millions protesting in the streets, stop hiding behind the, 'I don't negotiate with terrorist' myth," Wiig read out in a statement.
Wiig's statement also said the people of Gaza had been living "for many years in what is effectively a prison camp."
The pair have been held by a group calling themselves the Holy Jihad Brigades since being seized 13 days ago.
However, senior Palestinian security officials said on Sunday the name was a front for local militants.
Palestinian prime minister Ismail Haniyeh also squashed speculation that the kidnappers had ties to foreign groups.
Prior to the journalists' release, Ismail Haniyeh expressed his optimism for the release whilst meeting with Peter Rider, a New Zealand diplomat in Gaza City on Sunday morning.

STORYLINE :
The wife of a journalist kidnapped in Gaza last week met with the Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh in Gaza City on Thursday.
Anita McNaught, the wife of Fox News cameraman Olaf Wiig, said she was doing everything she could to secure his release.
Wiig, a citizen of New Zealand, was seized along with Fox News Correspondent Steve Centanni, a US citizen nine days ago.
A previously unknown militant group released the first footage of the pair on Wednesday.
The group calling itself the Holy Jihad Brigades demanded the release of Muslim prisoners from US jails within 72 hours
Haniyeh said of the kidnapping that "the Palestinian resistance factions are known. Their targets are clear and they are famous and work according to the Palestinian agenda."
McNaught sent a message to her husband and Centanni - and to their kidnappers.
"Stay strong and know that the Palestinian people around me have been very kind. You both know how much you are loved," she said. "And to the men who have taken my husband and Steve, I say this. You also have families and wives. People should not be kept from their families."
The US government has rejected the kidnappers demands and New Zealand announced on Thursday it would not negotiate with the kidnappers.

STORYLINE:
A previously unheard of militant group in Gaza released footage on Wednesday showing the two kidnapped Fox News journalists and demanded Muslim prisoners in US jails be released within 72 hours in exchange for the men, a Palestinian news agency reported.
In the footage, 60-year-old American correspondent Steve Centanni and 36-year-old cameraman Olaf Wiig from New Zealand, said they were being cared for and appealed for help in winning their release.
The footage was the first sign of the journalists since they were captured on the 14 August from their television van in Gaza City.
One of their colleagues at Fox News, Abed Abu Askar, pleaded for their release.
"Please release them, please let them go," he said.
The statement issued by the Holy Jihad Brigades railed against the US wars in
Afghanistan and Iraq and characterised them as a war against Islam.
It marked the first time a militant group in Gaza had made demands on a foreign country other than Israel, which was not directly mentioned in the statement.
Local militant groups have routinely tried to limit the conflict to a fight between Palestinians and Israel, hoping not to jeopardise international support for the Palestinian cause.
All the major Palestinian militant groups condemned the kidnapping and denied involvement.
It was unclear whether a group from outside Gaza could be involved.
Palestinian and Israeli officials have previously said al-Qaida was trying to infiltrate into Gaza from Egypt.
It was not clear whether the group was referring to prisoners being held by the United States in Guantanamo Bay or Iraq, where the US is holding large numbers of Muslim prisoners.
Palestinian militant groups have often seized foreigners, including members of the media, but usually release them within hours.
The nine days Centanni and Wiig have been held marked the longest kidnapping so far.
Palestinian government officials, including Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh, have called for the pair.
