What to do in the Brecon Beacons | Without climbing up hills!
If you're visiting the beautiful Brecon Beacons and want something to do which doesn't involve pulling on your walking boots and heading up hill, we have some great things to add to your list!
We do love getting out into our natural surroundings, but we were accompanied on the trip by our 13 year old Labrador, Dozer. As he's not as spritely as he once was, we were after some less strenuous activities that we could all enjoy together, and we were pretty pleased with what we found!
We hope that this gives you some ideas of fun things to do in the Brecon Beacons and of course you can always mix these up with some great hikes if you wish. You'll find all the links you need below.

Took a trip to Brecon Beacons National Park on a moody foggy morning.
Going from Pont ar Daf, Cantref Reservoir, Blaen y Glyn and The Black Mountains.
Unfortunately it was way too windy to get any shots from Pen y Fan.

Hiking The Length of the Brecon Beacons National Park
The Beacons Way is a 100 mile linear walk that runs the length of the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park. The walk includes 16 summits including Pen y Fan, Fan y Big and Fan Brycheiniog. It passes through some wild and remote countryside with some tough terrain - it's definitely one of the more challenging hikes I've completed. It took me 6 days to complete the hike, but I would recommend to maybe do it in the eight stages over maybe 8 to 10 days. It's a beautiful walk, and it's one to take your time and enjoy - the 6 days I walked it in felt a little rushed, if I was to do it again I would do it in 8 days.
If you are interested in any of the gear that I have used on this hike, I have made a video of all the kit I've taken and links are available in the description on that video.
Also, bel...

Llyn y Fan Fach sits beneath the ridgeline of Bannau Sir Gaer in the Brecon Beacons National Park. In this Vlog I explore this epic scenerey and the remnants of the landscape’s glacial past. Along the way I'll visit Picws Du, Fan Brycheiniog, Llyn Y Fan Fawr and the crash site of a de Havilland Vampire a British Jet just below Fan Hir.
A folklore legend connected with Llyn y Fan Fach is the myth of ‘The lady of the lake’. In the folktale, a young farmer of the 13th century spotted the most beautiful girl he’d ever seen emerge from the lake, she was a princess from the kingdom of fairies. He courted the fairy princess by baking her bread and after 3 attempts he succeeded in winning her hand in marriage on the condition that if he hit her three times she would leave him. He complied easily because she was so beautiful and they were happy for years bringing up a family at his farm near Myddfai, with her magic dowry of farm animals.
In time the inevitable happened he hit his wife and she disappeared back into the lake taking her prized animals with her , leaving the farmer with her sons. The sons once grown became known as the “Physicians of Myddfai” who became physicians to the English royal court.

Took a trip to Brecon Beacons National Park on a moody foggy morning.
Going from Pont ar Daf, Cantref Reservoir, Blaen y Glyn and The Black Mountains.
Unfortunately it was way too windy to get any shots from Pen y Fan.

Also, below I have added two links to the route and a link to the guide book I read before setting off. The Ordnance Survey page contains a link to the entire Beacons Way walk - I used this route on my OS Maps App on my phone for the hike.
I hope you've enjoyed watching my journey,
Thanks for stopping by,
Ryan.
