Summer Vibes! - Coco Beach Bizerte Tunisia!
The Tunisia summer vibes continues! We go to Bizerte, hop a boat and head to Coco Beach! Hope you guys enjoy the video!
After the bus ride to Bizerte, we go off and walked into the parking and docking area for the different restaurants on the Coco beach. There are many boats and small piers loading people up for their short trip to the beach.
I hopped on a boat and enjoy sailing over the blue Mediterranean water. We see the beach in the distance and it is amazing. There are numerous restaurants that has thatch shades on the beach and raise cabanas on the water. It looks like something you will see in the Maldives or something.
We settle in and then hope in the water for a swim.
We then had a good lunch and walk along the beach. We even saw a Jamaican flag flying high over restaurant cal...

Bizerte or Bizerta (Arabic: بنزرت, romanized: Binzart Tunisian pronunciation: [bɪnzɑrt] (listen), Italian: Biserta, French: Bizérte) the classical Hippo, is a city of Bizerte Governorate in Tunisia. It is the northernmost city in Africa, located 65 km (40mil) north of the capital Tunis. It is also known as the last town to remain under French control after the rest of the country won its independence from France. The city had 142,966 inhabitants in 2014.
Bizerte is on a section of widened inlet and east-facing coast of the north coast of Tunisia, 15 kilometres from Ras ben Sakka (the northernmost point in Africa on the Mediterranean Sea), 20 kilometers northeast of the Ichkeul lake (a World Heritage Site), 30 kilometers (18 miles) north of the archaeological site of Utica and 65 kilometers north of Tunis.
West of the city there are coastal hills forming an outcrop of the Tell Atlas with well-conserved woods and vantage points. Its associated beaches include Sidi Salem, La Grotte, Rasenjela, and Al Rimel. It is on a section of Mediterranean climate coastline, close to Sardinia and Sicily, as opposed to coasts in the south of the country which have a year-round dry desert climate.
The city is centered on the north shore of the canal of Bizerte linking the Mediterranean Sea to a tidal lake, the Lac de Bizerte which is larger than all parts of the town combined, to the immediate south.

We even saw a Jamaican flag flying high over restaurant called Jamaica paradise. So interesting.
A great day on the beach as I continue to enjoy the summer time here in Tunisia.
Hope you enjoy the video!

Jaafar also meets young Tunisian designers hoping to conquer the international fashion world, and start-up entrepreneurs who solve environmental and sustainability problems in innovative ways.
After visiting a traditional hammam, Jaafar heads to Djerba, the largest island in North Africa. While tourists flock to its coastal resorts, life in the interior is still quite traditional. For example in Erriadh, where he visits the "La Ghriba" synagogue. Just under 2,000 Jews live in Tunisia today, half of them on Djerba.

Here’s a brief overview of the content in this video:
We start our journey in Tunis, the vibrant capital city of Tunisia. It provides a great introduction to the country, with an intriguing historic medina, bustling markets, lively street scenes, great food and welcoming people. Not far from here are the picturesque Sidi bou Said, one of Tunisia’s most visited villages, and the ancient archaeological site of Carthage. Both can be visited as day trips from Tunis.
After renting a car, we drive South to the Berber village of Takrouna, to try some delicious home made bread. The next destination in Sousse, a popular beach vacation destination, that also offers a friendly medina, historic landmarks, and a stunning museum with spectacular mosaics.
We briefly stop in Monastir to visit the Ribat and Mausoleum of Habib Bourguiba, to many still seen as the ‘Father of the Nation’, before arriving in El Jem. This small town is home to one of the best preserved amphitheaters in the world.
Kairouan is considered the fourth holiest city in Islam, after Mecca, Medina, and Jerusalem. At the core of the city stands the imposing Great Mosque that remains an important place of worship. We also go in search of carpets here, for which Kairouan is famous.
After passing Sidi Bouzid, generally considered as the starting point of the so called Arab Spring, we continue to Tozeur, a small city on the edge of the Sahara. Reaching this far-flung outpost proved quite a challenge, as a sandstorm suddenly picked up. Around Tozeur we visit several oases, and also take a look at a former Star Wars movie set.
We cross the massive Chott el Jerid salt lake and arrive in Sabria, where we get an impression of nomadic lifestyles and ancient Bedouin culture. After riding camels, sipping tea at sunset, and a wonderful meal, we spend the night in style inside a tent camp. Next on the list are friendly Tamezret village, the peculiar hotel of Ksar Hadada, Ksar Ouled Soltane, and Chenini, which provides a great example of troglodyte housing.
The island of Djerba has a relaxed Mediterranean feel, with friendly villages, spectacular beaches, and interesting sights. We visit bustling markets, the murals and art of Djerbahood, pottery and ceramic workshops, and the beautiful El Ghriba Synagogue. We finish our journey in Sfax, an important commercial and industrial center, but also a city with a friendly, open attitude.

Tunisia's delicate ''legmi'' palm wine drink
Early in the morning, locals rush to purchase their favorite bottle of ''legmi'' in Gabès, South of Tunisia.

Tunisian Food North Africa - Eric Meal Time #330
Tunisian cuisine or the cuisine of Tunisia, is a blend of Mediterranean and desert dwellers' culinary traditions. Its distinctive spicy fieriness comes from the many civilizations which have ruled the land now known as Tunisia: Romans, Vandals, Byzantines, Arabs, Spanish, Turkish, Italians (Sicilians), French, and the native Punics-Berber people. Many of the cooking styles and utensils began to take shape when the ancient tribes were nomads. Nomadic people were limited in their cooking implements by what pots and pans they could carry with them. The Tunisian tagine, is very different from the Algerian or Moroccan dish. It is a type of a pie dish, made out of eggs, meat and vegetables, similar to the Italian frittata or the eggah.

Transcript excerpt:
Although Tunisia has been making wine for thousands of years, the quality revolution only really started in the 19th and 20th centuries during the French occupation when modern winemaking techniques were introduced.
Tunisia’s warm, sunny climate means that grapes have no trouble ripening which gives the red wines lots of colour, fruity aromas and higher sugar levels which means they can be rather generous in alcohol.
The red wines can pack such a punch that rumour has it the French used to blend Tunisian Syrah into their own. What is for certain though, is that Tunisia's Syrah, Carignan and Touriga Nacional perform particularly well making voluptous, aromatic wines, that pair nicely with flavourful Tunisian dishes like roasted lamb and couscous. On the lighter spectrum, over 65% of Tunisia's wine production is rosé which range from fuller bodied wines to light and delicate. They also make a small amount of aromatic white wines which benefit from being in regions closer to the ocean breeze. Despite its long history, Tunisia's wine industry still feels in its infancy which much potential as of yet unexplored. This is because during centuries of Arabic rule Tunisia went almost completely dry.
