Allston is a neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts, located in the western part of the city. It was named after the American painter and poet Washington Allston. It comprises the land covered by the zip code 02134. For the most part, Allston is administered collectively with the adjacent neighborhood of Brighton. The two are often referred to together as "Allston-Brighton". Boston Police Department District D-14 covers the Allston-Brighton area and a Boston Fire Department Allston station is located in Union Square which houses Engine 41 and Ladder 14. Engine 41 is nicknamed "The Bull" to commemorate the historic stockyards of Allston.
Housing stock varies but largely consists of brick apartment buildings, especially on Commonwealth Avenue and the streets directly off it, while areas further down Brighton Avenue, close to Brighton, are largely dotted with wooden triple-deckers. Lower Allston, across the Massachusetts Turnpike from the rest of Allston, consists of mostly 1890–1920s single-family and multi-family Victorian homes.
Boston Landing is a commuter rail station under construction on the MBTA's Framingham/Worcester Line located in Brighton, a neighborhood in the western part of Boston, Massachusetts. The station will be located just west of the Everett Street bridge, next to the Massachusetts Turnpike. It will serve the Allston-Brighton area as well as the Boston Landing development which is being built nearby. The station is an infill station, since commuter rail trains currently pass frequently on existing tracks through the site. Prior to a May 2013 renaming, the proposed station project was known as New Brighton Landing.
The planned station, which was officially announced on June 7, 2012, is the result of discussions dating back to 1998. It was projected to cost $16 million and to serve as many as 2400 daily riders by 2030. The station will consist of a single island platform, with elevators leading to Arthur Street and handicapped-accessible ramps leading to Everett Street. In November 2012, New Balance announced their intention to open the station in 2014. However, in May 2014, the expected opening was pushed back to the fall of 2016. The new station will be financed by New Balance under a public-private partnership agreement.
In Roman mythologyDies ("day") was the personification of day, and the Roman counterpart of the Greek goddess Hemera, the daughter of Nox (Night) and Scotus (Darkness).
She is the goddess of the daytime and, according to Hesiod, the daughter of Erebus and Nyx (the goddess of night). Hemera is remarked upon in Cicero's De Natura Deorum, where it is logically determined that Dies (Hemera) must be a god, if Uranus is a god. The poet Bacchylides states that Nyx and Chronos are the parents, but Hyginus in his preface to the Fabulae mentions Chaos as the mother/father and Nyx as her sister.
She was the female counterpart of her brother and consort, Aether (Light), but neither of them figured actively in myth or cult. Hyginus lists their children as Uranus, Gaia, and Thalassa (the primordial sea goddess), while Hesiod only lists Thalassa as their child.
Porter and Showbread also started "Raw Rock Missions," an organization designed to provide food and shelter for orphans and children with special needs.
Biography
In 1997, Porter began working with brother Patrick Porter creating and evolving the band Showbread, which became a full-time international touring act in 2002.
In 2004, following several independent albums, Showbread released No Sir, Nihilism Is Not Practical, featuring music and lyrics written by Porter, and arranged and completed by him and his band mates. No Sir... expectantly failed to achieve commercial success. However, it was rewarded by Revolver Magazine to be the best Screamo album of the year, and Showbread’s already respectable and rabid fan base was propelled by the thousands.

Getting to Know Your Neighborhood: Allston
Everyone in and around BU seems to have a cherished memory of Allston: a too-late night at the Sunset Grill, that first apartment on Glenville Avenue, an encounter with the neighborhood's late, great, dreadlocked, guitar-toting unofficial ambassador Mr. Butch. It's safe to say, that few recollections involve high-end clothing, artisanal cocktails, and spa treatments. But the new 02134, once called a "student ghetto," now mixes local mainstays with Boston's hot shopping and dining.

Harvard's Allston Expansion
As Harvard University and its partners pursue ambitious development projects in Allston, Massachusetts,, residents fear that their neighborhood—which they describe as uniquely hospitable to families, immigrants, and artists—will come to look a lot like Boston’s Seaport district: a sterile landscape of laboratory buildings and luxury housing that skews wealthy and white. Wary as they are of a Seaport imitation, area residents see great potential in the hundreds of acres Harvard is poised to transform: “It’s a blank canvas: the envy of any urban planner,” Tim McHale said. “The dreamscape is here in front of us.” Residents just don’t want the opportunity to be squandered: according to Jessica Robertson, “We have one chance to get it right. And so with this huge opportunity, there’s also huge ...

We took an MBTA train from the WORST STATION
After riding the Fairmount Line earlier, it was time to ride another MBTA Commuter Rail line. This time, we're taking a 20 minute trip on the Framingham/Worcester Line. For $6.50 a person, we traveled from Newtonville to Boston South Station. Newtonville happens to be one of the crappiest stations on the entire commuter rail network in Boston, and you'll see why.
Correction: the newest Metra station actually opened in 2018, not 2006. However, this station is only served 3x a day in each direction. So still bad.

I went to see the future site of Boston Landing Station. You can see the headquarters of New Balance at the top left corner in some of the clips, including the first one. I sped some parts up where the trains were moving slow for a long time. Enjoy!
Boston Landing station opened on May 22nd, 2017 on the Framingham/Worcester Line! It accompanies the site at which the New Balance Headquarters and the Celtics' and Bruins' practice facilities are. This is the first train to stop at Boston Landing. Enjoy!
