BJ were made in two different versions, a standard version and a kou'an (port) version. China Railways DF7D, a diesel electric locomotive based on DF7B, has a similar appearance to the Beijing locomotive.
North Korea
From 2002 the Korean State Railway has received a number of BJ class locomotives second-hand from China. They are used mostly for heavy shunting and on local freight trains around P'yŏngyang. Thirty have been delivered, numbered in the 내연301 - 내연330 series (내연 = Naeyŏn, "internal combustion"); most are still painted in their original Chinese blue livery, but a few have been repainted into the standard North Korean scheme of light blue over dark green.

Hei, today I am going to show you how to use public transportation,
how to use such a card, why it is more convenient than a one way ticket.
All of it in just three minutes and at the end of the video I am going to
give you a tip how to use public transportation even more conveniently.
How to recognize subway stations in Beijing:
Here are some subway stations shown. They have all one thing in common,
the sign with the circle and the rectangle in the middle.
Next you will most likely see the map of the whole Beijing
Subway and it will also show the position at which station you are.
When you enter the subway station you will need to go through a
security check which is similar to an airport security check.
How to buy a subway ticket in Beijing:
For the one way ticket go to the ticket machine, set the language at the
bottom left to English. Choose the line of the subway which will stop at your
final destination. On the left side you can choose how many tickets you
want to have and then choose the final destination.
You can pay by cash or by Alipay or WeChat. I will choose WeChat because
it is more convenient for me. And then you will get such a card.
For the rechargeable ticket you will need to go to such a counter.
Usually, there is someone inside. I was not as fortunate nobody was sitting
inside so I needed to ask some stuff. I showed them that I would like to buy
a rechargeable ticket for 50Y. I will write the translation in Chinese in
the comments so you can just show your phone to the stuff and they will
know what you are talking about. The ticket will be charge with 30Y
and 20Y as deposit and you can get the deposit back at the subway
station or the airport.
How to use the subway in Beijing:
And now you are good to go. Take a look for the
green arrow and swipe your card. Only the one way ticket needs to be
inserted if you want to leave the subway station. The rechargeable ticket
can also be used in the bus. But be aware you have to swipe the card
when you leave the bus. Every time when you swipe you card in the
subway or in the bus you can see how much money is left on the ticket
and the price you are paying. And if the ticket is empty you can simply
recharge it at the ticket machine. Inside of the subway station you will
have the name of the current subway station above the entrance to the
subway and you will always have a map with the direction in which the
subway will go. Once the subway arrived be aware that you always get
inside of the subway from the sides and go outside from the middle.
Now it is time to relax until you reach you final destination or the
destination where you change your subway. Above all doors you will
see in which direction the subway is going and at which subway station
it will stop. Additionally, a light or a sign will indicate which door opens.
So enjoy taking the subway.
So I love this song. We are at the end of
the video and now I am going to give you my tip. Download the app
Metro Man, I will give you a link below in the comment. So leave also
some comment there if you liked it and if it helped you and what your
experience was in the train or in the subway or in the bus in Beijing.
Thank you.

Beijing has one of the largest subway network in the world. Despite this, it is very easy to navigate. As it takes you to most tourists attraction and because the traffic in Beijing is horrendous, this is the best way to get around Beijing.
This video will give an overview on how the subway works. The key to a stress-free trip in Beijing is a good map. There are many maps available online. We like this online subway map as it has a ton of information including the shortest route: https://explorebj.com/subway/ They also have an app for smartphone.
If you plan to use the subway regularly, you should get a Yikatong card. This transportation card can be bought at most subway stations. You will pay a 20RMB deposit plus whatever stored value you choose. You can add more value at any time. You need one card per person. You can use the card to pay for the Airport Express and buses. You get a discount on buses when using the card. At the end of your stay in Beijing, you can return the card and get back your deposit and whatever your balance is. Not all subway stations can refund you but it is possible at the airport.

I hope you brought your subway card with you because today I'm taking you on a 104-kilometer journey between the two most distant stations in the Beijing subway network! From serene suburbs to the crowded underground tunnels of the second longest loop line in the world and along the way, some pretty cool metro art, it's a city adventure that won't break the piggy bank.
