Highly recommend Bad Reichenhall. What a beauty and relax town
Bad Reichenhall a gem in Bavaria
One of the most beautiful cities I have visited. The town still exudes its old spa atmosphere. There are beautiful stately buildings everywhere. Colourful flowerbeds and water features. A city where you can do many different things.
In the middle of Bavaria's mountainous landscape. Bad Reichenhall is known for its spa, salt production, beer and the Predigtstuhl. What highlights for such a small town. A cosy town that comes across as very relaxed. A real gem.
And there is a lot to see and do in this beautiful city. You will be amazed and will not be able to stop photographing and filming. It is like stepping back in time.

In the winter months, the nearby mountains become a haven for skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts.
Cultural attractions abound in Bad Reichenhall as well. The town features charming Bavarian architecture, with colorful buildings lining its cobblestone streets. Visitors can explore historic churches, quaint shops selling local crafts and souvenirs, and cozy cafes serving traditional German cuisine.
Overall, Bad Reichenhall offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, relaxation, and cultural experiences, making it a popular destination for tourists seeking a tranquil escape in the heart of Bavaria.

The centre of Bad Reichenhall
The beautiful old town. The pedestrian zone. A lovely place to stroll. Lovely terraces. Lovely shops. Plenty of coffee, tea and ice cream shops.
Reber Is the biggest and the most famous. Started in 1865 in Munich. It is especially known for their sweetness and very high quality. There are no flavour enhancers, colourings or preservatives in any Reber product. And they only use sustainably grown cocoa. Both inside and outside there is still the nostalgic atmosphere. Every afternoon from 3 o'clock there is live piano music.
The old Saline is now a salt museum. Just looking at the building from the outside is a feast for the eyes. It is an industrial think-tank. King Ludwig I of Bavaria ordered its construction in 1837. The highlight is surely the main well house with the well house chapel in neo-Romanesque style. Almost everything is still as it was when it was built. The huge water wheels still turn continuously. Under the ground, there is an extensive network of dark tunnels and mysterious caves. During a visit to the salt museum, you can see and learn everything about salt production. You can see the old craftsmen's tools. The accompanying restaurant is also worth a visit or a tasting. New Saline is still active for salt production. Since 1929 production has been transferred to the new Saline.
Spa town Bad Reichenhall
The spa park or royal spa. Already constructed in 1868. The whole park is very well maintained. And with 40,000 square metres of parkland, it is beautiful in every season. Full of beautiful colourful flowers and plants. Even with palm trees in the summer. Throughout the park there are benches, loungers and chairs to relax on. A kneading foot bath and arm bath. Ice-cold salt water that stimulates the blood circulation. It reduces blood pressure and stress. Please note. There must be at least 2 hours between the arm bath and the foot bath. There are many sunbeds around it. The park is known as one of the most beautiful parks in Europe. And I understand that very well.
The most striking thing is the saltwater wall. The Gradierhaus - open-air AlpenSole inhalatorium from 1910. The largest open-air inhalatorium in the world. The building is 160 metres long and 13 metres high. And 400,000 litres of salt water seeps along 100,000 thorn branches. It is super healthy to walk a few rounds and breathe deeply. Preferably for 30 minutes. It cleanses the airways and has a relaxing effect. It can even boost your immune system. In the old days, it was a regular part of people's cures. Walking around the saltwater wall. There are even old-fashioned spit containers. Even in the immediate vicinity of the building, the air quality is better. Nice to know. Some of the saltwater still comes from the old Saline. It is open from April to October. The branches come from Poland and are replaced after 10 years.
In front of it is a beautiful fountain, the Atlas fountain, surrounded by chairs. The Alpine salt fountain. It is only one of 55 fountains in the city. There are chairs around the fountain. Soothing salt water and healthy air. Surrounded by the colourful garden.
The Old Royal Kurhaus has been restored to its former beauty. Today it is a conference venue. It was built in 1899 and 1900. Because of the many events and concerts that were held there, it was the centre of the city for meeting people.
Right next to the Royal Spa Park is another park. The Ortenau Park. It is well laid out for relaxation and stimulation. The barefoot path is great for massaging the soles of your feet. Walking in stone, wood or bark activates the foot reflex zones. Or follow The Meanderlabyrinth with water. The stone labyrinth is nice to follow thoughtlessly. Both are fun for young and old. There are also chairs and loungers here and, of course, a beautiful bronze fountain.
Outside the pedestrian zone there is also plentyTown Hall. Newly built between 1849 and 1850, the old one was completely destroyed by fire. Attention has been paid to the building style of the old Saline. In 1929, the paintings came. They are important for the city
See the down ride of the ancient cable car.
Let's explore the world together.
