Types of Assets: Financial, Tangible, and Intangible
How do people get rich? Rather than having very high-paying jobs, wealth is more easily accumulated through ownership of assets. This is anything of value that can be converted into money. Of course we know about assets like houses and other properties, or even expensive collectibles, but there are more subtle assets that are totally intangible as well. What could these be? Let's find out!

Assets and Liabilities Defined, Explained and Compared in One Minute
Assets this, liabilities that!
The two terms get thrown a lot quite a bit on television, online and so on. But what are assets anyway? What about liabilities?
In one minute, I did my best to not just define assets and liabilities but also explain then in an easy-to-understand manner. Also, by comparing assets and liabilities, the similarities as well as differences should become blatantly obvious.
Way too many people make mistakes when it comes to so-called "easy peasy" terms such as assets and liabilities. Don't be one of them... just don't :)

Asset Liquidity (How Easy Selling/Liquidating Is) Explained in One Minute
Most people worry exclusively about aspects such as potential returns and fail to take asset liquidity into consideration when deciding whether or not to invest in certain assets.
Through this video, I did my best to explain what the liquidity of an asset means and why it's important to think about how you're going to sell before deciding whether or not to buy :)
I've also analyzed the liquidity of various asset classes: the liquidity of stocks, the liquidity of bonds, the liquidity of real estate, the liquidity of art and antiques, the liquidity of cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin as well as the liquidity of domains and websites.

How the dollar's 'exorbitant privilege' enriches the USA (and global elites)
How much does the US benefit from printing the global reserve currency? An economist calculated that US average daily income would fall by 27-57% if the dollar lost its "exorbitant privilege". Ben Norton explains how wealthy investors not only in North America but around the world hold much of their wealth in the dollar.

Asset Price Recoveries vs. Economic Recoveries: When Should a Recovery Be Trusted?
In light of the fact that assets are experiencing a noteworthy recovery at the moment of writing, it should come as no surprise that economists receive quite a few questions as to whether or not this recovery should be trusted.
But before answering, a follow-up question needs to be asked: which recovery?
As explained in this video, we need to make a clear distinction between asset price recoveries and economic recoveries because we are dealing with two remarkably different mechanisms.
Can asset price recoveries be correlated with economic recoveries? Of course, it represents the best case scenario. But as a general rule, economic recoveries tend to be multiple orders of magnitude trickier to manage, with "status quo" monetary stimulus measures which work great for asset price recov...

What is an Asset Bubble?
Welcome to the Investors Trading Academy talking glossary of financial terms and events.
Our word of the day is “Asset Bubble”
The term 'bubble' refers to an episode where the price of a financial asset rises significantly, often in response to speculation, which results in the asset trading at a substantial premium to its intrinsic value. When the bubble bursts, the price of the financial asset falls sharply leaving investors with reduced wealth.
When the prices of securities or other assets rise so sharply and at such a sustained rate that they exceed valuations justified by fundamentals, making a sudden collapse likely - at which point the bubble "bursts".
This may impact discretionary spending and hinder economic growth. Central banks attempt to keep an eye on asset price appreciatio...

HOW TO CONVERT A LIABILITY INTO AN ASSET - ROBERT KIYOSAKI, Rich Dad Poor Dad
Assets and liabilities serve as the central focus of this episode of Millennial Money featuring Robert Kiyosaki. Robert dismantles a pervasive misconception—that your house is an asset. This idea is debunked to underscore the importance of understanding the true nature of assets and liabilities in one's financial journey.
Robert goes on to propose that people themselves can be assets or liabilities. The discussion extends to the financial responsibilities associated with caring for family members. This aspect brings forth the idea that while family can be a source of emotional support, they can also be financial obligations.
Examples of human liabilities, with a focus on financial commitments such as alimony and child support. This serves as a stark reminder of the financial responsibili...

How much does the US benefit from printing the global reserve currency? An economist calculated that US average daily income would fall by 27-57% if the dollar lost its "exorbitant privilege". Ben Norton explains how wealthy investors not only in North America but around the world hold much of their wealth in the dollar.

But as a general rule, economic recoveries tend to be multiple orders of magnitude trickier to manage, with "status quo" monetary stimulus measures which work great for asset price recoveries being... well, oftentimes insufficient.
Before deciding whether or not a recovery can be trusted, it's important to take a very close look under the hood. As great as it may be to notice that asset prices are experiencing the (in)famous V-shaped recovery you hear about frequently , the economic recovery dimension tends to be a tougher nut to crack :(

Central banks attempt to keep an eye on asset price appreciation and take measures to curb high levels of speculative activity which may make prices vulnerable to a sudden correction. The term 'bubble' was first used in 1720 in reference to the South Sea Bubble Crisis and more recently has been applied to Japan in the 1980s and even 'dot-com' companies in the late 1990s.

This serves as a stark reminder of the financial responsibilities that individuals may have to shoulder in various life situations.
This episode not only clarifies the distinction between assets and liabilities but also underscores the importance of financial literacy, cash flow management, and the multifaceted nature of financial responsibilities in the context of family and personal finance.
