From 1995 to 2000, Folds was the frontman and pianist of the alternative rock band Ben Folds Five. After the group temporarily disbanded, Folds performed as a solo artist and has toured all over the world. The group reunited in 2011. He has also collaborated with musicians such as William Shatner, Regina Spektor and "Weird Al" Yankovic and undertaken experimental songwriting projects with authors such as Nick Hornby and Neil Gaiman. Folds was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He became interested in piano at age nine. His father, a carpenter, brought one home through a barter trade with a customer who was unable to pay. During this time, Folds listened to songs by Elton John and Billy Joel on AM radio, and learned them by ear. During his years at Richard J. Reynolds High School in Winston-Salem, Folds played in several bands as the pianist, bassist, or drummer.

The Adelaide city centre is the innermost locality of Greater Adelaide, the capital city of South Australia. It is known by locals simply as "The City" or "Town" to distinguish it from Greater Adelaide and from the City of Adelaide (which also includes North Adelaide and the parklands). The locality is split into two key geographical distinctions: the city "square mile", bordered by North, East, South and West Terraces; and the section of the Adelaide Parklands south of the River Torrens which separates the built up part of the city from the surrounding suburbs and North Adelaide.
The locality is home to the Parliament of South Australia and many key state government offices. Due to the construction of many new apartments in the city, the population grew from 10,229 (2006 census) to 12,962 (2011 census).
Before the European settlement of South Australia, the Adelaide Plains, on which Adelaide was built, were home to the Kaurna group of Indigenous Australians. The colony of South Australia was established in 1836 at Glenelg, and the city itself established in 1837. The location and layout of the city is accredited to Colonel William Light (1786–1839), in a plan known as Light's Vision. The area where the Adelaide city centre now exists was once known as "Tarndanya", which translates as "male red kangaroo rock" in Aboriginal, an area along the south bank of what is now known as the River Torrens, which flows through Adelaide.

Australia (/ɒˈstreɪliə/, /ə-/, colloquially /-jə/), officially known as the Commonwealth of Australia, is an Oceanian country comprising the mainland of the Australian continent, the island of Tasmania, and numerous smaller islands. It is the world's sixth-largest country by total area. Neighbouring countries include Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and East Timor to the north; the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu to the north-east; and New Zealand to the south-east.
For about 50,000 years before the first British settlement in the late 18th century, Australia was inhabited by indigenous Australians, who spoke languages grouped into roughly 250 language groups. After the European discovery of the continent by Dutch explorers in 1606, Australia's eastern half was claimed by Great Britain in 1770 and initially settled through penal transportation to the colony of New South Wales from 26 January 1788. The population grew steadily in subsequent decades; the continent was explored and an additional five self-governing crown colonies were established. On 1 January 1901, the six colonies federated, forming the Commonwealth of Australia. Since federation, Australia has maintained a stable liberal democratic political system that functions as a federal parliamentary democracy and constitutional monarchy comprising six states and several territories. The population of 24 million is highly urbanised and heavily concentrated in the eastern states and on the coast.
Australia (foaled 8 April 2011) is a British-bred, Thoroughbred racehorse best known for winning the 2014 Epsom Derby. As a two-year-old in 2013, he won two of his three races, creating a very favourable impression when winning the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Trial Stakes, and was highly regarded by his trainer Aidan O'Brien. In May 2014 he finished third behind Night of Thunder and Kingman in the 2000 Guineas before winning the Epsom Derby on 7 June. He subsequently won the Irish Derby and International Stakes before being defeated by The Grey Gatsby in the Irish Champion Stakes. His racing career was ended by injury in October 2014. He is standing at Coolmore stud.
Australia is a chestnut colt with a narrow white blaze bred by the Newmarket-based Stanley House stud. Australia was sired by Galileo, a Derby winner himself who went on to become an outstanding breeding stallion, winning the title of champion sire on five occasions. Galileo had sired two previous Epsom Derby winners New Approach in 2007 and Ruler of the World in 2013. Australia's Dam Ouija Board won seven Group One races including the 2004 Epsom Oaks and was twice named European Horse of the Year. He is the fourth foal produced by Ouija Board and second to Galileo, Australia's older sister Filia Regina has had limited success with only a single victory in a handicap at Yarmouth. His half brother Our Voodoo Prince won 3 races in Britain before being sold and is currently in training with Chris Waller in Australia.
"Australia" is a song by Australian rock band Gyroscope, from the album Breed Obsession. It was released as the third single from their highly successful album, which peaked at number one on the Australian Albums Chart. The song was released to radio in May 2008, and was released as a CD single and digital download on 14 June 2008, along with two acoustic pieces. One of those being a live acoustic version of "Australia", the other a live acoustic cover of Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game".
The song lyrically covers a range of issues surrounding the band's home country, Australia. It notably "pays tribute to indigenous people, first settlers, Diggers and recent reconciliation efforts." "Australia" is said to have risen Gyroscope's "songwriting to new heights", it's a track that confirms the Australian rock band "are equally capable of creating softer numbers as well as the harder hitting ones".
Lead vocalist and songwriter Daniel Sanders speaking about the story behind the song, said "It was essentially written about myself leaving England as a tot and coming to Australia, and then growing up here, appreciating and embracing our culture and heritage and falling in love with it all. I wanted to express it for my own sake... So I could rejoice in what I love about this country".

Director: Andrés Ramírez Pulido 2022 France, Colombia 86 minutes Unclassified 15+ Winner, Grand Prize, Critics’ Week, Cannes. The triumph at Cannes of this brooding and intense film has thrown Andrés Ramírez Pulido into the front ranks of Latin American filmmakers. La Jauria centres on Eliú, who is imprisoned for murder and finds himself in an experimental young offenders’ program in the Colombian jungle where others like him are there to supposedly shake off the negative energy that pervades their lives. However, the problems run much deeper, right to the heart of social order. Pulido’s film resonates beyond issues of crime and punishment to larger questions of the ways in which we are subjected to power and the possibilities of resistance. “Mashes up potent atmospherics with thriller ...
Director: Jerzy Skolimowski 2022 Poland, Italy 88 minutes Unclassified 15+ “an exemplary, fresh and radiant piece of work” (Deadline) Veteran Polish master Jerzy Skolimowsky dares us to image how animals see the world in this utterly unconventional story in which a donkey is the central character. EO, our hero, is at times a circus performer, a beast of burden, a football mascot and even a bystander at a melodrama involving no less than Isabelle Huppert. The world is a very mysterious place when seen through the melancholic eyes of EO who stoically endures the quietly outrageous twists of fortune on his picaresque journey through modern Poland. Seen by many as a reworking of Bresson’s 1966 masterpiece Au Hasard Balthasar, this marks a triumphant return for one of Poland’s greatest direct...

Reynolds High School in Winston-Salem, Folds played in several bands as the pianist, bassist, or drummer.
I know that you're in there
I can see you
You're saying you're ok
I don't believe you
And now that the gig is off
The spell is broken
The fat lady sung
The president has spoken
These days that you were waiting for
Will come and go
Like any day
Just another day
There's never gonna be a moment of truth for you
While the world is watching
All you need is the thing you forgotten
And that's to learn to live with what you are
So freak out if you wanna
And I'll still be here
Don't call me for years and when you do
Yeah, I'll still be here
I'm not saying the effort is a waste of time - but I
Just love you for the things you couldn't change
Though you've tried
These hours of confusion they will soon expire
Like everything
Does
There's never gonna be a moment of truth for you
While the world is watching
All you need is the thing you've forgotten
And that's to learn to live with what you are
Sometimes
Everything you've ever wanted
Floats above
He's sticking out his tongue and laughing
While everything
Anyone can ever need
Is down below
Waiting for you
To know this
There's never gonna be a moment of truth for you
While the world is watching
All you need is the thing you've forgotten
And that's to learn to live with what you are
You got to learn to live with what you
You got to learn to live with what you
Are
