Olve Eikemo (born 27 June 1973), better known by his stage name Abbath Doom Occulta or simply Abbath, is a Norwegianmusician best known as a founding member of the black metal band Immortal. Before founding Immortal, Abbath performed with Old Funeral alongside future Immortal member Demonaz. While working with Old Funeral, he also joined Demonaz's band Amputation which later became Immortal. He also plays bass in Demonaz's eponymous project.
Although he is primarily a guitarist, he is also proficient as a drummer, having recorded all drums for Immortal albums Pure Holocaust and Battles in the North. Following his departure from Immortal in 2015, he announced that he will be forming a new band under the Abbath name.
Early life
Eikemo grew up in Lysefjorden in Os just outside Bergen in Norway. As a young boy, he was a great fan of the band Kiss. His first heavy metal album was Creatures of the Night, which made him feel "immortal". He started his musical career with the band Old Funeral.
Abbath (stylized as ABBATH) is a black metal band formed in 2015 by former Immortal guitarist and vocalist Abbath Doom Occulta after departing from Immortal earlier in 2015. The band released their first album, Abbath, on January 22, 2016, and played live for the first time at Tuska Open Air 2015.
History
In April 2015, Metalhammer announced that Abbath Doom Occulta had recruited members to the band, specifically King Ov Hell from God Seed and drummer Creature to participate in the band. They also recruited Vredehammer guitarist and vocalist Per Valla to tour with the band as lead guitarist. The band is set to enter a recording studio later this year to work on a new 2016 album. During their Debut performance at Tuska Open Air 2015, they played a completed song titled Fenrir Hunts that will be featured on their upcoming 2016 album. Their debut self titled album Abbath was released January 22, 2016 on Season of Mist. On December 12, 2015, it was announced that drummer Creature left the band. Several days later on December 15, live member Per Valla left the band.
"Crazy" is a song by Australian recording artist Ricki-Lee Coulter, taken from her third studio album Fear & Freedom (2012). It was written by Coulter, Brian London and Johnny Jam, while the production was also handled by the latter two. The song was released digitally on 13 July 2012, as the third single from the album.
Lyrically, Coulter stated that "Crazy" is about "encouraging you [to] let go of your inhibitions, go crazy and let the music take over". Following its release, "Crazy" peaked at number four on the ARIA Dance Chart and number 46 on the ARIA Singles Chart. The accompanying music video was directed by Melvin J. Montalban and filmed in the Callan Park Hospital for the Insane in Sydney. The video features Coulter playing three characters – a nurse, patient and psychologist.
Background and release
"Crazy" was written by Ricki-Lee Coulter, Brian London and Johnny Jam, while the production was also handled by the latter two. During an interview with The Daily Telegraph, Coulter said she wrote the song "as if I was actually singing it directly to the people on the dance floor". She went on to describe it as "sensual and erotic, encouraging you let go of your inhibitions, go crazy and let the music take over". "Crazy" was released digitally on 13 July 2012. On 23 July 2012, it debuted at number 52 on the ARIA Singles Chart and number four on the ARIA Dance Chart. The following week, "Crazy" fell out of the top 100 of the ARIA Singles Chart. On 6August2012, the song re-entered the chart at number 46, where it peaked.
Crazy Magazine was an illustrated satire and humormagazine, and was published by Marvel Comics from 1973 to 1983 for a total of 94 regular issues (and two "Super Specials", Summer 1975, 1980). It was preceded by two standard-format comic books titled Crazy.
Marvel (then known as Atlas) first published a Crazy comic book in 1953. It ran for seven issues, through mid-1954, and was focused on popular culture parodies and humor. The second comic title, as Crazy!, ran for three issues in 1973, and reprinted comics parodies from Marvel's late-1960s Not Brand Ecch. Later that year, Marvel repurposed the title for a black-and-white comics magazine. Marv Wolfman edited the first ten issues from 1973–1975 and the first "Super Special", and created the magazine's first mascot, Irving Nebbish, a short, bug-eyed man in a large black hat and draped in a black cape.
"Crazy" is the title of a number-one R&B single by The Boys. The hit song spent one week at number one on the US R&B chart and also reached number twenty-nine on the Billboard Hot 100.
Todd Anthony Shaw (born April 28, 1966), better known by the stage nameToo Short (stylized as Too $hort), is an American rapper, producer, and actor. He is best known for his hit songs like "The Ghetto" and "Blow the Whistle". Too Short is one of the very few musicians to have been able to collaborate with both 2Pac and The Notorious B.I.G. during the height of their careers.
Too Short is credited as being one of the pioneer rappers of West Coast hip hop. Many of his rap lyrics are about pimping, drug use & sexual antics.
Career
Shaw was born and grew up in South Central Los Angeles, California. In the early 1980s, Shaw and his family moved to Oakland, California. He was a drummer in the band at Fremont High School in Oakland. In the mid 1980s, Shaw produced custom songs (called "special requests") for people with his high school friend, Freddy B. In 1985, Too Short had his first release, Don't Stop Rappin' which, along with the following three releases, featured raw, simple drum beats from a LinnDrum drum machine. This was also one of the first hip hop records to use the word "bitch" - a word which became one of the rapper's trademarks and was the focus of subsequent raps such as Ain't nothing but a word to me.
The .41 Rimfire Cartridge was first introduced by the National Arms Company in 1863 and was also known as the .41 Short and the .41-100. In most designations like this, the second number refers to the black powder load, though in this case it means "41 hundredths of an inch". According to "Cartridges of the World," the .41 Rimfire consisted of a 130 grain (8.4 g) lead bullet propelled by 13 grains (0.8 g) of black powder in its original load. The round produced a muzzle velocity of 425 feet per second (130m/s) and a muzzle energy of 52 foot-pounds force (71J). In contrast, modern low-powered smokeless cartridges produce considerably more energy: .380 ACP (200ft·lbf), .22 LR (Up to 204ft·lbf out of a rifle).
Performance
Cartridges of the World states that when fired at a hard object, such as a tree, from a distance of 15 yards (14m) or more, the bullet often bounces off. Reportedly, when shot at a target more than 20 yards away, the shooter hears two distinct reports; First the gun being fired; and second, the lead bullet striking the target. The .41 Short was created with the intention that it be used in a small, single-shot derringer, which likely is the reason for the very low ballistics (most derringers were and are chambered for cartridges that were not originally intended to be used in such a small weapon). Remington Arms began producing their famous Remington Model 95 over/under double barrel derringer chambered for the .41 Rimfire cartridge in 1866.
