The A2 is a major road in southern England, connecting London with the English Channel port of Dover in Kent. This route has always been of importance as a connection between the British capital of London and sea trade routes to Continental Europe. It was formerly known as the Dover Road.
Unlike the other single digit A-roads in Great Britain, the A2 does not form a zone boundary (in this case between Zone 1 and Zone 2). The Zone 1/2 boundary is the River Thames.
County Route A3 or Standish–Buntingville Road is a road in Lassen County connected to U.S. Route 395, and functions as a bypass for northbound traffic around Susanville. At its northern end it is signed for Reno (via US 395), and its southern end for Lakeview, also via US 395.
The road network in Jamaica consists of almost 21,000 kilometres of roads, of which over 15,000 kilometres is paved. The numbering scheme used covers freeways, primary (or A) roads, secondary (or B) roads, parochial roads and unclassified roads.
Motorways
Starting in the late 1990s the Jamaican Government (in cooperation with private investors) embarked on the Highway 2000 project to create a system of motorways, the first such access-controlled roads of their kind on the island. The project seeks ultimately to link the two main cities (Kingston and Montego Bay) and the north coast. It is being undertaken as a series of phases:
Phase 1a was the 33 kilometre Kingston-Bushy Park Highway (in actuality, from the Manley Highway at Caymanas Park to Sandy Bay) which was completed in 2003, and the upgrade of the Portmore Causeway, completed June 2006.
Phase 1B Sandy Bay to Four Paths which was completed on 15 August 2012 and opened as the T1 Toll Road. There is an exit for traffic to/from the A1 Spanish Town Bypass between 9.7km and 11.2km from the eastern end of the T1, then to Old Harbour at 26.5km, to Freetown at 30.9km, to Sandy Bay at 42.3km, and concludes at a junction with the A2 at 45km, about 400m east of the junction with Glenmuir Rd providing access to May Pen. Work on the section from Four Paths to Williamsfield has yet to start. This phase will be a total of 37.7 kilometres when completed.
Great Britain and Ireland was a set of special commemorativepostage stamps issued by the Royal Mail in 2006. The stamps were the final part of the British Journey series, which had previously featured Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Wales. It was available as mint stamps, as a presentation pack, stamps cards, and a first day cover.
British Journey series
These stamps are the final issue in the British Journey series; which started in 2003 with Scotland, followed in 2004 with Northern Ireland and Wales, and South West England in 2005. The series was brought to a premature end with this issue due to a lack of popularity amongst collectors.
Stamp details
The stamps were issued as a block of stamps, five wide by two deep. The photographs selected for this issue show no sky but are intended to demonstrate the colours and textures of the United Kingdom. All values are first class.
England were a progressive rock group active in the late 1970s, and briefly reformed in 2006. The band is notable for their album Garden Shed released on Arista Records, and for keyboardist Robert Webb playing a Mellotron sawn in half.
Biography
The band was formed in 1975 by drummer Mark Ibbotson, and, after a variety of prototype groups, stabilised around a line-up of himself, bassist Martin Henderson, guitarist Jamie Moses and keyboardist Robert Webb. Moses and Webb had previously collaborated on an unreleased album. Ibbottson owned a Mk II Mellotron, which Webb took an interest in, later saying "it opens up possibilities. It's having control like the conductor of an orchestra." To make the instrument portable, Webb sawed the instrument in half, rehousing the left-hand manual and the right-hand tapes (which contained the lead sounds on a Mk II model) it in a new case. After a number of gigs at the Hazlitt Theatre in Maidstone, Moses quit and was replaced by Franc Holland. In March 1976, immediately following a showcase gig that resulted in a contract with Arista Records, Ibbotson quit the band and was replaced by Jode Leigh.
WORST MAIN ROAD IN THE UK - SYDENHAM BYBASS A2 , BELFAST
Constructed from concrete slabs in 1959 this is surely a contender for the worst main road in the United Kingdom. The joins between the slabs are like speed bumps and with a speed limit of 60mph you feel every single one of those rattle up your spine. Even in a Rolls-Royce or Citroen with hydro suspension would struggle to cushion the blows.

On August 16, 2020, the CZU Lightning Complex ignited and for over a month burned throughout 86,500 acres throughout the Santa Cruz Mountains. This fire destroyed over 1,400 buildings and directly impacted the communities of Boulder Creek, Bonny Doon, and Davenport. Although it was stopped a bit over 5 miles from the community of Lompico, this fire served as a warning of what could come to a community within a canyon. The community of Lompico currently has a high risk of wildfire over the next 30 years according to CALFIRE. With over 500 homes adjacent to the Loch Lomond Recreation Area, this community would be classified as a wildland-urban interf...

Feasibility Study of the 90 Mile Multi Use Ohlone Portolá Heritage Trail
Recorded 09/15/2021
This webinar will discuss the ins and outs of a feasibility study done on the 90-mile multi-use trail to interpret early California history in San Mateo County.
Webinar Outline
A Spanish expedition in search of Monterey Bay led to the accidental "discovery" of San Francisco Bay in 1769 from atop a ridge in today's San Mateo County in California.
To mark the 250th anniversary of this event, an effort was undertaken to tell the story of the expedition and of the native people who greeted the Spanish warmly, but whose lives and culture were nearly eradicated within a few short years. The goal of the feasibility study was to designate a 90-mile multi-use trail on public lands that traces the steps of the Spanish expedition and highlights the native people they encountere...

With over 500 homes adjacent to the Loch Lomond Recreation Area, this community would be classified as a wildland-urban interface.
A WUI community is defined as areas where houses meet or intermingle with undeveloped wildland vegetation. This changing landscape dynamics have put fire risk management at a crossroads (Baccciu et al., 2022). Back to back severe fire seasons have caused both property owners and emergency services to adopt a proactive mindset in order to adapt to increasing fire risk. In addition to damaging properties, wildfire can also cut off access to utilities, emergency services, impact evacuation routes, and may impact the overall economic well-being of an area (RiskFactor).

The goal of the feasibility study was to designate a 90-mile multi-use trail on public lands that traces the steps of the Spanish expedition and highlights the native people they encountered.
California State Parks gave the Planning Merit award to San Mateo County Parks Department for the Ohlone-Portolá Heritage Trail at the California State Parks Trail and Greenways Conference in 2020.
Learning Objectives:
• Learn how a 90-mile multi-use trail was planned through San Mateo County from the Pacific Ocean to the San Francisco Bay
• Learn how the Ohlone-Portolá Heritage Trail traces the steps of the Spanish expedition and highlights the native people they encountered
• Learn how two people’s very different but equally weighted interpretations can be told.

A teenager has crashed into a lorry whilst travelling 100mph in Lincolnshire.
The 19-year-old driver was evading police in a chase before he crashed into a slow-moving lorry at high-speed.
The teenager from Grimsby was given a suspended sentence of 12 months.

The 2 mile stretch of London's Old Kent Road between Bricklayers Arms and New Cross Road. One of the oldest roads in Britain (a modest couple of thousand years old) it today forms a section of A2 between the capital and Dover.

Essssiiiixxxxx.... Yep we're back in Essex for another journey that will take us from Chelmsford to Colchester. A fairly straight forward route compared to the usual but that doesn't mean along the way there's nothing exciting and interesting for us to see. In this episode, wooden bridges, tyres and a mansion are but a few of the things we'll be stopping to look at on the way .
Using a copy of the 1923 Michelin Guide, I'll be travelling the country to see what remains and what's changed since it's publication. The guide offers suggestions on thing to see and where to stay all with the goal of getting you out there and exploring in your motor vehicle.
Traffic officers deal with one of the worst accidents in motorway history, on an already busy bank holiday weekend! Subscribe to Our Stories: https://bit.ly/3lzSXhv
Documentary series which goes behind the scenes and on the roads with the characters who work on the M25, one of the most famous and busiest motorways in Britain. It's a Bank Holiday weekend, and with a heatwave on its way, there are record numbers of vehicles expected on the roads. As the big getaway begins, traffic officers Howard and Tim are called to a big pile-up in heavy traffic. A truck has hit a pedestrian bridge at Junction 4 of the M20, forcing it to collapse onto the carriageway. As a result, the M20 has to be closed, adding hours onto holidaymakers' travel times. It's a race against time for Highways England to get the road reopened before over a million holidaymakers start their return journeys; for the maintenance teams, this means working through the night to get the bridge off the carriageway.
