Gender, Equity, and Justice Summit

Main content start

(Formerly the Stanford Women’s Leadership Conference)

In the late 90s, students brought together campus leaders to create a Women's Leadership Conference. Over the years, the programming waned. In 2006, with the support of a Stanford Associates grant through the Stanford Alumni Association, the WCC revived the Stanford Women's Leadership Conference as a way to bring people together from the Stanford community to explore how gender interacts with concepts of leadership from a wide range of disciplines and fields. Over time the WCC decided to evolve its programs and after 13 consecutive years of hosting the SWLC, the team decided to change it to a more relevant event: the Gender, Equity, and Justice Summit (GEJS).

During the pandemic, the GEJS was held online, making it a free virtual event for all to attend beyond the Stanford community.
