When 'Thai traditions' are tested by advanced 'technology,' what will Thailand look like in the future?

What will happen…
🤖 if the sex industry is revolutionized by 'robots'?
💻 if we resort to 'AI' to sort out and modernize Buddhism to keep up with the world?
🐙 if humanity's last chance to survive is in the hands of a 'squid'?
🐑 if the cycle of life is challenged by a technology like 'cloning'?

Ever had a weird question you couldn't get out of your mind or a question you felt too embarrassed to ask? Well, lucky for you we're here to help! Join Brian David Gilbert, Oscar Montoya, Ify Nwadiwe, Rekha Shankar, and Ele Woods as they ask and test the questions nobody else will. New series premieres November 29th, only on Dropout.

I'm a big fan of all the comedians involved with this one, and I'm looking forward to see them bring on scientists and other experts for what seems like a mashup of Mythbusters and those weird thoughts you have in the shower.

Earlier this week, the Guardian had a piece about actors who've replaced another actor in a TV show (or film series). Has a show you liked recast a role, replacing the original actor with a new one? Did this affect your enjoyment of the show? Does it make a difference it's a minor or recurring character role that is recast vs that of a central character? Does timing matter? Is it easier to accept a recasting if it occurs early in the first series vs during later seasons? Have you ever wanted to recast a role in a show you liked because you weren't keen on the actual actor and thought someone else would be better suited for the role?

[WARNING: the linked-to article may contain what some would consider to be spoilers (e.g. if you've not yet watched the show being discussed, or haven't reached the point where someone was recast), so read at your own risk, etc.]

Release: November 14 (Hulu/Disney+)

FX’s limited series Say Nothing is a gripping story of murder and memory in Northern Ireland during The Troubles. The 9-episode series is based on the book by Patrick Radden Keefe. Spanning four decades, the series opens with the shocking disappearance of Jean McConville, a single mother of ten who was abducted from her home in 1972 and never seen alive again.

Telling the story of various Irish Republican Army (IRA) members, Say Nothing explores the extremes some people will go to in the name of their beliefs, the way a deeply divided society can suddenly tip over into armed conflict, the long shadow of radical violence for all affected, and the emotional and psychological costs of a code of silence.

I think we mostly all agree that things are horrible pretty much everywhere in the world right now. So I thought it might be a nice idea if we could provide recommendations for shows that make you feel good and that help you get through less-than-inspiring times. Maybe they make you happy, maybe they're warm and sweet and cozy, maybe they never fail to make you laugh, maybe the world building is so amazing that they just whisk you away to some other place... What are some of your feel-good shows and what makes them that for you?
