Bringing Experience to Serve
I am dedicated to serving our community. If elected to the Hawaiʻi State House to represent North Kona (District 7), I will continue that service at the Capital.
As a Marine Combat Veteran, small business owner, and micro farmer, I offer real world leadership experience and practical common sense to cutting taxes, reforming government so it is less of a burden on the average person, and generating economic opportunities that will create good-paying jobs.
I am 100% committed to lowering the cost of living for Hawaiʻi’s people, improving sustainable food and energy resources to lower our dependence on shipping, caring for our precious natural resources so they can be enjoyed for generations to come, and bringing real accountability to State government.

A THRIVING COMMUNITY
Lower Cost of Living
As your representative, my top priority is to lower the cost of living in Hawai’i. I understand the financial pressures our families face daily, from housing costs to groceries and utilities. I will work tirelessly to implement policies that reduce these burdens.
- Lower taxes on income and essential goods/services
- Less dependence on shipping
FIX HOMELESS CRISIS
We must fix the homeless crisis to help those living on the street and protect our community from crime and disease. A three-pronged and systematic approach will address the key issues that the homeless and our community are facing.
- Coordination of social work & law enforcement efforts
- Drug and mental health rehabilitation
- Reunification with family/support network
Government Reform
Our government should truly serve the people, putting the power back in the hands of our communities. I stand behind these crucial reforms to create a system that is more transparent, responsive, and accountable to everyone:
- Implement legislative term limits to bring fresh perspectives and reduce entrenched power.
- Establish a statewide citizens initiative process to give voters a direct voice in shaping our state’s future.
- Expand the Sunshine Law to cover legislative sessions, ensuring government transparency and accountability.
- Prohibit campaign contributions during legislative sessions to maintain integrity and avoid conflicts of interest.
Build a New Kona Hospital
Our current hospital is old, in disrepair, and cannot meet the demands of West Hawaii’s healthcare needs. 90% of our peak-time population lives more than 15 minutes away, directly contributing to higher mortality rates. The current hospital has been at risk of losing its Level 3 Trauma Designation due to outdated facilities. 40% of inpatient and 62% of outpatient surgeries are forced to go elsewhere. Lack of skilled nursing/rehabilitation facilities result in up to 100-day hospital stays for wait-listed patients. I am dedicated to making Kona a healthier place to live.
- Provide a modern hospital closer to the population center
- Expand Primary Care and Specialty Services
- Reduce need to leave Kona for healthcare
Improved Infrastructure
- Water Supply, Sewer & Wastewater: Ensuring clean, reliable water and efficient wastewater management to protect our environment and health.
- Roads, Traffic Control, Bike Lanes: Enhancing road infrastructure, managing traffic effectively, and promoting safe bike lanes for all residents.
- Beach Park Facilities: Upgrading and maintaining beach parks to provide safe, clean, and enjoyable spaces for families and visitors.
