Dana Terrace (born December 8, 1990) is a director, storyboard artist, and animator, most known for creating the Disney animated series, The Owl House.
Terrace graduated from the School of Visual Arts in New York during the spring of 2013 and subsequently moved to Los Angeles after getting hired as a storyboard revisionist for Gravity Falls.
After finishing work on Gravity Falls, Terrace became a director on the first season of the DuckTales reboot. She later created and executive produced her own series, titled The Owl House, for Disney Channel.
After the production of The Owl House ended, Terrace left Disney after years of collaboration.[1]
The appearance and name of Amity's palisman, Ghost, is modelled after Dana's real-life cat.
In a tweet, Dana stated that she was inspired to dye her hair green after finalizing Amity's design, because she "thought [Amity's] look was so dope."[6]
In the episodes "Reaching Out" and "Thanks to Them", Luz's father is shown to have passed away when she was little. Similarly, Terrace's own father, Thomas Terrace, died when she was eleven.[7]
Dana's cameo in the show
A cartoon version of Dana as a student at Hexside appears in "Watching and Dreaming," however, Dana didn't know about her cameo until she watched the episode. [8]
