Ages 4-19 years
Foundation and Step Up
Age: 4 – 14
No audition required
Foundation and Step Up programmes are an exciting way for young beginners to learn music and develop through lessons and playing together. Lay the Musical Foundations for a lifelong love of music and Step Up to playing together in a group.

Centre for Advanced Training
Age: 10 – 18
Audition required
The Centre for Advanced Training is for young people with a passion for music and the potential to take it further in a wide range of instruments, voice and composition.

Ensembles
Age: 10-19
Auditioned and Non-Auditioned
Ensembles are led by superb performers and musicians, with guest artists and amazing performance opportunities giving unique experiences to young players. Sing or play in a wide range of styles and learn with others.

Bursaries
Making Music transforms lives! Make Music: Young People helps people discover skills and confidence and has helped people go on to work, study and most importantly LOVE music throughout their lives.
This experience should be available to anyone. If finances could be a barrier to you (or your child or young person) joining us please get in touch to find out more about bursaries or grants to help cover any costs.
- Lots of students don’t have to pay any fees at all.
- In 2022-2023 families received over £230,000 of bursaries.
- 75% of Centre for Advanced Training students received a bursary.
