The Black Tortoise is one of the four Guardian Gods and the anima of Hyun Eun-Jo.
Plot[]
Being one of the four Guardian Gods makes the Black Tortoise one of the most powerful animals and anima. Similar to the other Guardian Gods, the Black Tortoise only has one contractee per generation. Before it is awakened, it disguises itself as a turtle.
The Black Tortoise was originally the anima of Hyun Eunjo's older brother Jun. However due to Irang's time traveling and mistake of saving Eunjo over Jun, the Black Tortoise was left without a contractee. This was an awkward situation because right after it was finally awakened, the Black Tortoise's contractee was on the brink of death. Typically the Four Guardian Gods would choose a new contractee, but since Eunjo was standing before the Black Tortoise without an anima, the Black Tortoise was willing to make an exception.
Although Eunjo originally wished for bodies for the animas without owners to fill, the Black Tortoise claimed it could not grant that wish. In exchange, the Black Tortoise offered Eunjo the ability to take anima away from anyone, but could not guarantee the bodies would be filled. Eunjo accepted this as his wish because he claimed that all the weak should die and was willing to sacrifice everyone's lives besides his own in exchange for this wish.
Powers and Abilities[]
The Black Tortoise's power is to grant its contractee the ability to take away anima from anyone. They can accomplish this by physically murdering others by taking the form of a dark monster, or by storing anima within hourglasses to be gambled at Animarena.
