Team Titanic are minor antagonists in the Dynamite Entertainment adult comic book series The Boys. They were a superhero team made up of former sidekicks, originally created by Vought-American to appeal to the teen demographic.

History[]

As they grew older and other younger teams were created, the team started taking on whoever didn't fit in anywhere else. Although they were just as powerful as Vought-American's bigger cash cows like the Seven, they suffered from the same issues that were far too common in the company's other teams, such as lacking focus and having little to no discipline or training. Due to them being on the very bottom of the corporate food chain, however, Vought disbands and reorganizes them every few years or so, essentially using them as cannon fodder.

Sometime before Team Titanic's first appearance in the series, Malchemical is reassigned to Super Duper as punishment for using his shape-shifting abilities to trick The Starlike, the girlfriend of Jimmy the One, into having sex with him.

During a scheduled meeting at their Star Tower with James Stillwell and Jessica Bradley, Team Titanic was tasked with the protection of the two Vought-American executives. However, the meeting was abruptly disrupted by the unexpected intrusion of The Frenchman and The Female. In the ensuing confrontation, they succeed in eliminating several members of the team, including Dry-Hump, Earl Mulch, Muzzletov, Regina Dentata, and Snaffletwat. Country Mama also becomes an unintended casualty due to friendly fire from The Starlike's energy beams. In a bid to prevent further harm, Stillwell calls for a ceasefire, and from that point onwards, the remaining members from Team Titanic are not seen again.

Trivia[]

  • Team Titanic is just one of the many Teen Titan parody groups found throughout the The Boys universe, such Teenage Kix and the Young Americans, with Teen Titanic being an comedic exploration of Teen Titans's Silver Age sidekicks as washed-up adults.
    • Their name is also an obvious play-on-words for "Teen Titans".
