Diplomasia (kutoka neno la Kigiriki δίπλωμα, diploma, yaani "hati rasmi inayotoa fadhili fulani") ni taratibu zinazoratibu mahusiano katika ngazi ya kimataifa kati ya nchi na nchi au nafsi za kisheria nyingine zenye hadhi ya kimataifa.

Diplomasia inaratibu majadiliano baina ya nchi moja au nchi zaidi ya moja na nchi nyingine. Diplomasia hutokea sana pale nchi mbili au zaidi zikipigana. Diplomasia inasaidia kusimamisha vita. Lakini pamoja na kipindi mazungumzo haya yanapohusu masuala ya haki na amani, siku hizi diplomasia hutumika kwa masuala ya biashara, uchumi na utamaduni pale nchi zikisainiana mikataba.

Diplomasia inamdai mhusika awe na utaalamu hasa upande wa sheria, pamoja na ustaarabu na sifa nyingine zinazorahisisha mafungamano.
