A skilled writer, Guzon-Bae began honing her skills at age 15 when she was hired as a columnist for VIA Times, the largest minority newspaper in the Chicago area. She eventually graduated college with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in journalism from Columbia College in Chicago. Survivor[]
Being Asian-American, Jenny started the game on the green Puka Puka tribe. Puka Puka emerged as the strongest of the four tribes by coming first in the first two Immunity Challenge. During the Tribe Switch on Day 7, Jenny was selected by Parvati Shallow to be on the new Rarotonga tribe. Jenny and Brad Virata were the only Puka Puka members on the new tribe. Jenny bonded with the women of the tribe, doing the majority of work in comparison to the men. Jenny was kept safe when Rarotonga won Immunity.
Jenny first came in danger of elimination on Day 11, when Rarotonga lost the Immunity Challenge. After the challenge, tribemate Stephannie Favor told the tribe that she was the weakest link and would not be offended if she was voted out. Jenny was originally going to vote for Stephannie but when Rebecca Borman came up with a plan to blindside the annoying J.P. Calderon, Jenny seemed interested. Jenny believed the women should stay together so they would not get picked off by the men. Jenny helped the women convince Brad Virata and Adam Gentry to vote with them, causing J.P. to be blindsided by a 7-2 vote at Tribal Council.
During the Reward Challenge on Day 12, Jenny was in charge of deciding who had to carry weight. Jenny's strategic decisions lead Rarotonga to victory. While Rarotonga was relaxing at camp, Aitutaki members Cao Boi, Ozzy Lusth, and Jessica Smith stumbled upon their camp. Jenny did not like this and quickly became annoyed when Cao Boi started telling long stories. Things were made even worse when Rarotonga failed to win the Immunity Challenge, sending Jenny back to Tribal Council. The tribe collectively agreed on voting out Cristina Coria, who was annoying the tribe. While collecting water Stephannie told Nate Gonzalez that she was looking forward to eating some real food. Nate took this as a sign of weakness so he told the tribe Stephannie wanted to go home. This made Jenny change her vote from Cristina to Stephannie, who was unanimously voted off at Tribal Council.
Jenny was shocked when Jeff Probst revealed that both tribes would vote somebody off at Tribal Council during Day 15. Jenny once again targeted Cristina for her annoying personality. Cristina however, targeted Jenny in a last ditch effort to stay in the game. At Tribal Council, the majority of the tribe stuck with the original plan of eliminating Cristina and she was voted out.
Rarotonga managed to win the Immunity Challenge on Day 18. When Jeff offered the chance to Mutiny on Day 20; Jenny, along with the rest of her tribe refused the chance to switch tribes and were surprised when Candice Woodcock and Jonathan Penner switched tribes. Jenny, along with Brad Virata, Nate Gonzalez, and Rebecca Borman were ready to eliminate the newcomers at the first opportunity they got. This opportunity came when the new Rarotonga tribe lost the Immunity Challenge. Jenny was unaware of the alliance created by the original Rarotonga tribe mates, so she targeted Jonathan because he was untrustworthy. The Raro Alliance, however targeted Brad. At Tribal Council Brad openly told the tribe he didn't trust any of them, which caused the tribe to change their votes and eliminate Brad.
Jenny felt in a powerful position in the game, thinking she was aligned with Adam, Nate, Parvati, and Rebecca, but in reality she was only in an alliance with Rebecca and Nate. When Rarotonga lost the Immunity Challenge on Day 24, Jenny gathered the tribe to vote off Rebecca, because she was the weakest when it came to challenges. Jenny was also wondering about the message in the bottle Rarotonga had received after losing the Immunity Challenge. She, like the rest of her tribe thought the note would indicate a merge. Jenny felt safe going into Tribal Council and felt even better when the tribe followed through with Jenny's plan to blindside Rebecca. When Parvati opened the bottle, the message revealed that the tribe must vote off another tribe member straight away. Jenny thought the tribe would vote off Jonathan because he was the most untrustworthy tribe mate remaining. She was shocked when the dominant Raro Alliance blindsided her in a 4-2 vote. Jenny finished the game in 10th place, becoming the third member of the jury.
At Final Tribal Council, Jenny asked Yul whether challenge prowess or strategic game was more important. Yul said social strategy was more important. Despite being satisfied with Yul's answer, Jenny opted to vote for Ozzy to become the Sole Survivor.
