A Group Tribal Council is a twist where the merged tribe is temporarily divided (or "un-merged") into two groups ahead of an Immunity Challenge; only the losing team will attend Tribal Council to vote someone out. The merged tribe will then reunite thereafter. This is not to be confused with the Split Tribal Council, where both teams each vote someone out at Tribal Council.

On Day 24, the recently merged Bula Bula tribe was split into two groups of five and competed against each other in a Reward/Immunity Challenge. The team of Alex Angarita, Dreamz Herd, Michelle Yi, Mookie Lee and Stacy Kimball lost and attended Tribal Council where Michelle was voted out 3-2.
Survivor 44[]
On Day 14, the Va Va tribe was split into two groups of five and competed in a Reward/Immunity challenge. Due to the uneven numbers, Carson Garrett was randomly chosen to sit out, though he could also win the challenge if he correctly guessed the winning team. In the end, Carson predicted correctly as Frannie Marin was the last one standing overall, winning for her teammates. Meanwhile, Brandon Cottom won individual immunity, and his team consisting of himself, Jaime Lynn Ruiz, Lauren Harpe, Matt Blankinship and Yam Yam Arocho attended Tribal Council.
During the reward, Heidi Lagares-Greenblatt on the winning team found the Control a Vote advantage, which she used to force Lauren to vote for Yam Yam. Ultimately, Matt was voted out 3-2.
Survivor 47[]
On Day 13, the Beka tribe was randomly split up into two groups of six and competed in a Reward/Immunity Challenge. In the end Genevieve Mushaluk and Teeny Chirichillo outlasted Kyle Ostwald to win the challenge for their team, though Kyle still won individual Immunity. This sent the team of Caroline Vidmar, Gabe Ortis, Kyle, Rachel LaMont, Sue Smey and Tiyana Hallums to Tribal Council.
During the reward, Sol Yi found a Take Your Pick advantage that he was instructed to send to one person on the losing team, who could choose between a Safety Without Power or a Vote Blocker, either of which were only valid for that Tribal Council. Sol chose to send it to Rachel, who chose Safety Without Power and left Tribal Council. Ultimately, Tiyana was voted out 4-1.
