Gestrandet, also known as Gestrandet – Zeig, was in dir steckt!, is the second season of Survivor (Germany).
After 60 days in the Pearl Islands, Alex Kolo defeated Caro in a final challenge to become the Sole Survivor.
Production[]
After Expedition Robinson 2000, ORF, the Austrian channel who co-produced it, decided to cancel their series. However, RTL 2 decided to make a second season, despite the first one underperforming.[3]
The title of the series was changed from Expedition Robinson to Gestrandet. Filming took place in the Pearl Islands, Panama. Pierre Geisensetter replaced Volker Piesczek as host. The season was originally going to have twelve episodes but was later expanded to 28.[4] It aired twice a week from September 2 to December 3, 2001. The prize for the winner was DM 100,000 (equivalent to roughly US$82,500 in 2021) and a Montblanc watch worth DM 5,000 (equivalent to roughly US$4,100 in 2021).
Twists/Changes[]
- Longer Game: The game lasted 60 days, 13 days longer than the first season.
- Final Three Elimination Challenge: The final three competed in the Last Man Standing challenge. The castaway who finished in last place would be eliminated from the game.
- Final Challenge: Instead of there being a jury, the Final Two took part in a final challenge to determine the winner.

Season Summary[]
The fourteen contestants were sent to the island blindfolded. The seven women were flown via helicopter, and the seven men arrived in a fishing trawler. Early on in the season, three female contestants chose to quit the game. Soon after, a male contestant, Gregor, asked his tribemates to vote him out.
After 55 days, only Alex, Caro, and Cori remained. The final three competed in the Last Man Standing challenge. The person to finish in last place would be eliminated. Cori, who was disadvantaged going into the challenge with a weight in her left hand, fell off first and was eliminated from the game.
Unlike the previous season, the winner was not determined by a jury vote. Instead, Alex and Caro took part in a final challenge to determine the winner on Day 60. Alex won the challenge, claiming the DM 100,000 prize, a Montblanc watch worth DM 5,000, and the title of Sole Survivor.
