How can I complete the move of Thunderbird from Drive C: to Drive D:?

I run Thunderbird on a PC, and, to free up space on Drive C:, I have moved the contents of the folder Thunderbird in Appdata to Drive D:. I then changed my Server Settings, in Thunderbird, from C: to D:, and note that any new mail is indeed now appearing there along with those already transferred. This move could save me a valuable 6 gig of space, and more in the future, however, I am unable to remove that original Thunderbird folder entirely, notably I am unable to remove the contents of the Profiles folder, as it is still linked to the application. Notably with cookies.sqlite, cookies.sqlite-shm, store.json, mozlz4, aborted-session-ping and many others, which I note some have continued to be updated. I have been unable to find any other settings in Thunderbird referring to Drive C:, other than those in Server Settings.

I could presume that if I installed another version of Thunderbird on Drive D: and maybe moved those existing contents of the Thunderbird folder on C: onto Drive D:, and made those numerous settings changes to the App it could work. But I ask is there an easier way to complete this move? How can I complete this transition of Thunderbird from Drive C: to Drive D:?

Hi. Is there a way to add travel time to an appointment just like you can do in google or apple calendar? It’s a great feature. When I add an adres to my appointment Apple calendar will automatically add the travel time by car from my home to the destination. I miss that feature in Thunderbird.

If your thunderbird window shrinks when being displayed on your internal laptop monitor but expands when displayed on an external monitor (or vice versa) it is because if the value for

layout.css.devPixelsPerPx (Edit -> Settings -> General -> (all the way down) Config Editor -> (search for) layout.css.devPixelsPerPx)

is set to a positive value. It seems like the value has a reverse effect in between internal and external monitors (shrink one and expands one).

To fix this issue, set the value for layout.css.devPixelsPerPx to -1

I am posting this question to display this solution to the public if anyone else experiences a similar issue.

Having trouble interconnecting between two different BMO sites. Account on one site is "linked" to the other site, but when I click on the linked account I always get an error page. Checking in settings, could this be caused by the "cross site cookies"? (I usually "forget" cookies on a regular basis, so maybe not?)

I had dark mode enabled with a theme, the same theme I use on another computer, but on this computer it was making a lot of web pages dark too which is incredibly annoying and hard to read. I changed the theme on this computer to a light theme and the tabs/upper bar turned light but web pages are still dark so I'm not sure how to stop it. My computer is in light mode as well.

Disabling either the "Allow Firefox to send technical and interaction data to Mozilla" or the "Allow Firefox to install and run studies" options under the Privacy & Security settings page break all of my homelab SSL certificates using Let's Encrypt and breaks the tab/card preview functionality. The only way for these to work is to leave both options enabled. Disabling either one breaks both of those.

When they are disabled the card preview just doesn't work. The Let's Encrypt-backed self-hosted services are a bit different. I get a warning that the pages are insecure, and if I click the Advanced button to continue (sometimes it is there and sometimes it is not) I get looped back to the same insecure page with no way to accept or proceed.

Things I've tried: - Disabled all Add-Ons - Deleted/reverted all modified settings in about:config - Firefox Refresh - Uninstalled/cleared cache directories/reinstalled - Deleted my whole Mozilla account and recreated, thinking it was a bad setting being synced

Fedora Systems information: - Firefox v130.0.1, Mozilla Firefox Flatpak - Flathub Flatpak from official Mozilla source - OS: Fedora 40, Gnome - Hardware: Framework 13 12th-gen laptop, custom desktop PC

Ubuntu System information: - Firefox v130.0.1, Mozilla Firefox Snap for Ubuntu - Snap as provided from fresh Ubuntu installation - OS: Ubuntu 22.04.4, Gnome - Hardware: Lenovo ThinkPad X13 Gen4, Intel 13th-gen

This is not an issue on Firefox for Android seemingly. This started on my laptop first a few weeks ago, I don't remember changing either of those privacy settings at the time but I may have.

I have migrated Thunderbird from one Windows laptop to another, copying the profile and all included files. This mostly worked but has created a couple of issues I am trying to troubleshoot and could really use some help.

First thing probably worth noting is that I had an earlier version of Thunderbird on the old laptop than the new one downloaded to the new laptop. I don't that if that is the problem.

I have two email accounts which are both using IMAP. When I delete an email in Thunderbird, it keeps coming back and I now have multiple copies of that email. My storage is filling up 😒 Is there a setting I am missing?

Additionally, the migration does not seem to have brought over my contacts. Did I miss something?

Any help and advice will be greatly appreciated.
