Kaspersky Security Center automatically maintains an inventory of licenses for Kaspersky applications, including Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Windows, on all managed devices via the Administration Server. The limit of active license keys may be exceeded if you reinstall the operating system or change the device. In this case, the Administration Server redistributes available licenses and revokes valid keys from devices on the network. To monitor if the licensing limit for active keys is exceeded, configure event notifications about the licensing limit exceeding.

When using Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Windows without the Kaspersky Security Center centralized administration tools, the administrator or other responsible person must manually perform inventory count of the licenses for Kaspersky applications used in the organization.

You can transfer the license from the old installation to a new one, including a new device, using these instructions.

Below are the main reasons why the limit of active license keys may be exceeded.

Automatic deletion of inactive objects is not configured

The devices with inactive licenses are stored in the Unassigned devices group

Devices from other administration networks are connected

Distribution of keys is not configured

The number of acquired licenses is not enough
