Vellas Pavo was a planet that was located in the Grumani sector, in the Outer Rim Territories. Before and during the Republic Dark Age the world was a known source of gadolinium.
History[]
Before[1] and during[4] the Republic Dark Age, the element gadolinium, an important element used in the manufacture of superconductors,[1] was mined on Vellas Pavo by one of the four largest superconductor manufacturer companies in the Grumani sector.[4]
At some point between 1066 BBY[5] and 1040 BBY, the planet was under the control of the Sith Lord Chagras.[1]
After Chagras' death in 1040 BBY, the planet was located near the borders of Daiman's realm,[1] however, no Sith Lord ruled over the planet in 1032 BBY.[4]
Shortly after the Daimanate Dynamic Testing Facility was destroyed on Darkknell in 1032 BBY, the Sith Lord Ayanos Bactra made a deal with Daiman. Bactra, who controlled the other three superconductor interests, offered him an arxeum built by the Industrial Heuristics in exchange for passage across Daimanate territory in order to strike at the mining operations on Vellas Pavo and to eliminate Bactra's remaining competitor. Daiman agreed, however during the following battle on the planet Gazzari he and his brother Odion joined their forces and turned on Bactra, taking him by surprise and proceeding to topple his realm.[4] Later the planet fell into the hands of Lord Daiman.[3]
