An upcoming live-action Star Wars film is planned to be released on December 18, 2026. The film was revealed on June 13, 2023 after the start of the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike when Disney re-organized their theatrical film release slate.[1] In the 2024 Q3 Earnings Presentation on August 7, Disney confirmed its commitment to releasing The Mandalorian and Grogu and a second film in 2026, along with a third film in 2027.[2]
