Tests of the Godking is a roleplaying game adventure, and part of "The Long Shot Campaign." It was first published in the Star Wars Campaign Pack in 1988 and reprinted in Classic Campaigns in 1994.

Plot summary[]

In the adventure, the players take on the role of Green squad, part of the Alliance to Restore the Republic's Irregular unit Reekeene's Roughnecks. Sent to negotiate with the Anointed People of Masterhome, the squad must gain the natives' trust, then help them defeat the crew of an Imperial shuttle.[4]

Behind the scenes[]

First published in Star Wars Campaign Pack in 1988, "Tests of the Godking" was later republished in Classic Campaigns in 1994. When the adventure was reprinted, there were several minor changes made to the text. These were:

  • A reference to Masterhome as an "Earth-like planet" is changed to "terrestrial planet." Further information is give on the temperature range on the world.
  • Reference to "core systems" is replaced with "interior systems."
  • References to the situation on Yavin 4 more firmly establish that the moon is still to be evacuated.
  • More details are given for various non-player characters in the adventure, including Captain Jayhawk, Mirthen, Captain Gorgi, Hal, Lieutenant Mistran, Lord Dixton and Marska.
  • Expanded specifications for both the Martinette and the Resurgence, including formally identifying the class of starship they belong to.
  • A reference to "lacrosse matches" is replaced with "gravball matches."
  • References to elephants and mice as size indicators are removed and replaced with metric measurements such as meter and centimeter.
  • A reference likening an eater's skin to a rhinoceros' is removed.
  • A reference to "pounds" as a unit of weight is replaced with "kilograms."
  • Lord Dixton is established to formally be a Moff, but prefers the title Governor-General.
  • A reference to griffs being deer-like is removed.
