The Starkiller crisis^[16] was a galactic crisis launched when the First Order first fired Starkiller Base, a secret superweapon^[1] built out of the planet Ilum.^[16] First, the First Order wiped out the New Republic by destroying the Hosnian system, but Starkiller Base itself became a battlefront when the Resistance launched a desperate final strike against the superweapon.^[1]
