Captain Sormic was the bald, pink-faced commander of an X-Wing training squadron, dubbed Gold Squadron, for the New Republic. He was in charge of the unit while Candidates Lara Notsil, Lowan, and Lussatte were in pilot school, and suggested that Notsil transfer to officer training in astronautics or navigation.
