The Raxus system was an Outer Rim star system in a sector known as the Tion Hegemony.[1] It contained the planet Raxus Secundus,[4] which served as the capital of the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars.[6]
Description[]
The Raxus system was a star system located in the Tion Hegemony of the Outer Rim Territories,[1] at grid square S-5 on the Standard Galactic Grid.[2] Home to the planets Raxus Secundus[4] and Raxus Prime,[1] the Raxus system had a single star,[3] and played host to several different species, such as Gossam, humans, Ithorians, Leyakians, Siniteen, Twi'leks, and Weequay.[5]
History[]
Separatist Crisis[]
In 24 BBY,[7] fallen Jedi Count Dooku[8] gave a speech in the Raxus system, where he commandeered a HoloNet relay station within the system.[4] In the speech, Dooku denounced the Galactic Republic as a futile enterprise that was burdened by corruption and favoritism toward the Core Worlds. Afterwards, the Serennian founded the Confederacy of Independent Systems and began a secessionist movement which resulted in thousands of star systems, including the Raxus system, leaving the Republic for the Confederacy.[8]
