"He says that 'our friend' was taken by the creatures, these R'ora. He says that means he will be dead soon."
―Captain Phasma, to TN-3465[3]

The R'ora were a sentient species that were native to the planet Luprora. They had an antagonistic relationship with the Lupr'or, a race of humanoid migrants that had colonized Luprora. Following the Battle of Starkiller Base, the First Order lieutenant Sol Rivas was captured by the R'ora. Captain Phasma subsequently led a Lupr'or assault on the R'ora stronghold in order to kill Rivas to conceal her role in the destruction of Starkiller Base.

Biology and appearance[]

The R'ora were an aquatic bipedal species with red skin, sharp teeth, jagged features, and two pairs of tentacles on the sides of their torsos.[2] While the R'ora were well adapted to the planet Luprora's oceans,[4] they could also breath and walk on land.[2]

Society and culture[]

The R'ora were a primitive species that had developed spears and ropes and lived in settlements such as the R'ora stronghold[2] by 34 ABY.[5] They appeared to have a symbiotic relationship with the giant tentacled Tsw'ells, which guarded their stronghold on a rock island. The R'ora had an antagonistic relationship with the humanoid Lupr'or, who had colonized Luprora centuries before the outbreak of the First Order-Resistance War.[2]

History[]

"The tide is coming in. When it does, the R'ora, who are more capable in the water, will wipe them out. Time to go."
―Captain Phasma describing the conflict between the R'ora and the Lupr'or[4]

The R'ora were an aquatic species that originated in the oceans of the planet Luprora. By 34 ABY, rising sea levels had caused the sea to flood much of the planet's landmass. As the R'ora expanded onto the submerged landmass, they came into conflict with the humanoid Lupr'or species, who had colonized Luprora centuries earlier.[3] While the Lupr'or struggled, the R'ora adapted to the planet's evolving climate and environment.[4]

By the time of the Battle of Starkiller Base, the Lupr'or population had declined to a small village, which bordered a lake containing a rocky island that hosted a R'ora stronghold. The fugitive Lieutenant Sol Rivas was captured by the R'ora shortly after landing on Luprora. When When Captain Phasma and TN-3465 traveled to the planet to hunt down Rivas, they were informed by the Lupr'or chief Jair'i that Rivas had been taken by the R'ora and that he would be dead soon. After Phasma refused to accept the assumption that Rivas was going to be killed by the R'ora, Phasma and TN-3465 were told they would taken by Dar'en to where the R'ora would keep Rivas in order for them to see how futile it was.[3]

Undaunted, Captain Phasma devised a plan which involved attacking the R'ora stronghold by using generators to kill the Tsw'ells in the lake surrounding the island. Phasma then led the Lupr'or across the lake on boats to attack the R'ora stronghold. Scaling the cliff, Phasma, TN-3465, and their Lupr'or allies attacked the R'ora, who fought back fiercely.[2] While the two alien species fought, Phasma eliminated Rivas in order to maintain the secrecy of her role in lowering Starkiller Base's shields. When TN-3465 expressed concern for the Lupr'or, Phasma claimed that the Lupr'or were being supplanted by the R'ora, who were able to adapt to the planet's changing environment.[4]

Behind the scenes[]
