The EV-series,[3] also known as the EV-class,[8] was a series of droids[3] manufactured by MerenData[1] that included the EV-series medical droid[2] and EV-series supervisor droid.[3] Many EV units had a programming defect that caused them to exhibit cruel behavior, forcing MerenData to issue a mass recall, from which few escaped.[1] Some surviving EV-series droids were repurposed as interrogator droids by the Confederacy of Independent Systems[5] and Galactic Empire.[6]
