Droids Defiant is an adventure for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game which appeared in Star Wars Adventure Journal 9. It was written by Thomas Bowling and illustrated by Matt Busch.
Plot summary[]
Recent privateer activity on Cosmohaul Shipping results in a Cosmohaul executive having the idea to hire cheap mercenaries to guard their shipment. The mercenaries are hired onto the Argent Lady, a Cargo Empress-class super freighter captained by Xalto Sneerzick tasked with hauling a group of R5-series astromech droid.
Unbeknownst to them, Sneerzick and his crew are secretly part of the Droid Abolitionist Movement and upload an emancipation virus into the droids in hopes of causing them to break their programming and become independent. However, a malfunction in some of the R5 causes them to revolt against their liberators and kill the Argent Lady crew.
The mercenaries then have to escape the newly arrived Cutlass, an Imperial Patrol Ship demanding that the ship power down for a 'routine inspection.'
