- "Captain, Kijimi is in range."
"Fire." - ―Lieutenant Milon Lenwith and Captain Chesille Sabrond
The Derriphan was a Xyston-class Star Destroyer of the Final Order that was the first of the new ships to launch from Exegol. It destroyed the planet Kijimi. The name came from the Sith word for "devourer."
History[]
- "Send a ship to a world they know. Let it burn."
- ―Darth Sidious gives the order for Kijimi to be destroyed

The Derriphan was one of the 1,080 Xyston-class Star Destroyers that formed the Final Order of Darth Sidious. On the orders of Sidious, the Derriphan was the first Star Destroyer to successfully launch from Exegol where the remainder of the fleet was stationed, their numbers too expansive to all leave the planet simultaneously without being guided out by a navigational beacon.
Sidious later ordered Allegiant General Enric Pryde to choose a planet with connections with the Resistance to destroy as a show of force. The frigid world of Kijimi was chosen, and once General Pryde ordered the garrison to activate Protocol 13, the Derriphan used its axial superlaser to obliterate the entire planet.[1] After this, the Star Destroyer fled back to Exegol to join the fleet. As the Sith fleet prepared to exit the planet, the Resistance, and eventually the Citizens' Fleet, came and destroyed all of the Sith Star Destroyers, including the Derriphan and its crew.[4]
Behind the scenes[]
The Derriphan first appeared in canon in the 2019 Star Wars saga film Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker.[2] It was identified in the corresponding visual dictionary.[1] In the "A Certain Point of View" department in Star Wars Insider 213, an image of the Derriphan is erroneously used to depict the Steadfast.[6]
In Star Wars Legends, "Derriphan" was a type of dark side creature.[7]

- ↑ Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary establishes that the Xyston-class Star Destroyer is 2,406 meters in length and 682 meters in height. Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker depicts the Derriphan as having what The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary identifies as a ventral solar ionization reactor, an axial superlaser, two deflector shield generator domes situated on the conning tower, and hangars adjacent to the superlaser. Since Star Wars: Battles that Changed the Galaxy establishes that the Derriphan was a Xyston-class Star Destroyer, it must have these characteristics.
