The Aquilaean system, or Aquilaean systems, was a star system that contained the planet of Aquilae. It was targeted by the New Galactic Empire, as one of the last Independent Systems, for annexation. Crispin Hoedaack was appointed its Governor by Emperor Cos Dashit. The planet Yavin was apparently part of this system, though it was also placed in the Forbidden Systems. An asteroid field separated Aquilae from Yavin.

In the rough draft to Episode IV, the astrography of the Aquilaean system(s) is somewhat confused. The destruction of the Imperial space fortress is visible from Yavin.
