Edward James "Ed" Begley Jr. (born September 16, 1949; age 75) is an American actor.

Biography[]

Career[]

Begley has acted in a lot of movies and TV shows. He made cameos in the 1970s television series Room 222 as well as a guest actor on Maude. His television credits include recurring parts on Mary Hartman, Seventh Heaven, Arrested Development, Meego, and Six Feet Under. He also starred in Stephen King's Kingdom Hospital, St. Elsewhere, and Wednesday 9:30 (8:30 Central). Playing a tall classmate of Chip's, he appeared in one episode of My Three Sons. In three of Christopher Guest's mockumentary films, Best in Show, A Mighty Wind, and For Your Consideration, he has portrayed prominent characters. In addition, Begley portrayed Boba Fett in the radio version of Return of the Jedi, Greenbean, a Viper pilot on the original Battlestar Galactica TV series, and Seth Gillette, a fictitious Democratic U.S. senator from North Dakota on The West Wing. Begley served as a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Board of Governors from 2000 to 2016. He played CBS executive Rod Perth in the television film The Late Shift, which aired in 1996. He appeared in guest roles on television series like Star Trek: Voyager, Boston Legal, and Scrubs. He appeared in Veronica Mars' third season as a recurrent guest star. He starred in the HBO film Recount (2008), which followed the 2000 presidential election and its aftermath following the Supreme Court of the United States of America's decision to stop the state's popular vote count. The election was won by Florida's electoral votes. Begley also appeared on Tim and Eric's Fantastic Show; well done! In Season 3, Episode 3, acting as Cinco's spokesperson. He also voices Rock T. Puss in the SpongeBob SquarePants episode Goofy Scoopers.
