Rhinobatos schlegelii Müller & Henle, 1841

  • Lectotype: RMNH D2680 (dry).
  • Paralectotypes: (8, including 2 dry, 6 alcohol) ?BMNH (1); RMNH D2681 and D2684-2687 (5, dry), D2689 (1, dry), 4225 (4).

Type locality: Japan.

Etymology: named in honor of ornithologist and herpetologist Hermann Schlegel (1804-1884), for his unhesitating support of the authors’ work. (From: The ETYFish project)
