The issues with one of our network backbone operators has been cleared up. 10-Oct-2024

There have been some issues with weekend with network backbone operator Cogent in the SF Bay Area. We are "routing around" the issue, but not all ISPs have alternatives to get to some of our main stream servers. It started Saturday night, then cleared up, then started happening again. We will keep you posted. 6-Oct-2024

Thistle Radio fans: You may have heard that Fiona Ritchie is retiring, but that is only from her weekly NPR Program, "Thistle & Shamrock". Thistle Radio (a co-production between us and Fiona) will continue on SomaFM. 25-Sep-2024

The Sonos app update released today seems to break a bunch of music service integrations including SomaFM. You can still play things, you just don't see the grapics, and the main menu is in reverse order. Hopefully they'll do an update that fixes this soon (they've apparently done 3 updates of iOS alone today). 7-May-2024

Another iOS App update fixes a couple more bugs and by request returns the playlist history to show the songs that played before you turned in as well as the current ones (as it was in the past versions before Dec 2023). Also fixes the swipe-right empty screen bug. Let us know if you've found any other bugs we need to fix. 12-Feb-2024

Thank you all for your January support! January is always a financially tough month for us because we have to prepay the annual royalty minimum fees which are over $50,000. (Did you know we pay close to $100k a year in music royalties alone?) 4-Feb-2024

Our official Sonos music service is now live. This makes it much easier to access all the SomaFM channels (including new and seasonal channels) and more importantly, no more annoying pre-roll ads from Sonos. Io install, tap the gear menu in the Sonos app, select Services & Voice, tap + Add a Service, type 'SomaFM' in the search bar, and tap the SomaFM Radio icon. 4-Oct-2023

SomaFM supporters who work at Costco: This month they'll match 60% of donations made by their employees to our sister non-profit, SomaFM Community Radio (which is listed in approved charities on their giving portal) 1-Oct-2023

Partial and short SomaFM streaming outage tonight (Tuesday early AM pacific time) for planned router maintenance from our primary bandwidth provider: "There will be one to two 10-15 minute outages during the maintenance window while equipment reloads after a firmware upgrade. The maintenance window is scheduled for Tuesday, October 3rd, 2023, between 1:00 AM and 2:00 AM PDT." Just wait a couple minutes and hit play again and all should be good. 2-Oct-2023
