Join us for a screening of THE MAKING OF AN AVANT-GARDE: The Institute for Architecture and Urban Studies 1967 -1984, by Diana Agrest. This intimate look at the IAUS—which features Peter Eisenman, Kenneth Frampton, Mario Gandelsonas, Emilio Ambasz, Anthony Vidler, Rem Koolhaas, Frank Gehry, Aldo Rossi, Stan Allen, Rafael Moneo, Deborah Berke, and Agrest herself, among others—documents and explores the Institute's fertile beginnings and enduring significance as a place where an avant-garde came into being. Free and open to the public. Theater snacks provided.

This screening is presented in tandem with the SoA’s upcoming symposium, In Conversation: Tracing the Institute of Architecture and Urban Studies, to be held Thursday, October 3 at 6pm and Friday, October 4 from 10am to 3pm in Betts Auditorium.
