KEARNY MESA— Encinitas sensation Eat Crispy Burger has landed on Convoy Street in an ongoing expansion that includes new locations coming to Oceanside and Chula Vista. Owner Ramzy Rahib is cooking up his popular smashburgers, including the “OG” Double Crispy Burger with American cheese, grilled onions, and Thousand Island dressing on a brioche bun, along with avocado oil-fried crispy chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, sides, and milkshakes. 4898 Convoy Street.

SAN YSIDRO— Part of a slew of ongoing openings, both retail and restaurant-related, at Las Americas Premium Outlets is this quick-service spot that transports customers to the wonderland of a Korean convenience store. Seoul Street features a wall of more than 100 instant noodle varieties, including popular brands like Buldak and Nongshim, and a fleet of machines that can cook the ramyun on-site with optional add-ins like green onion, cheese, and egg. The shop also stocks an array of trendy Korean drink pouches filled with juice, tea, or coffee that are ready to pour into a cup of ice. 4463 Camino De La Plaza #117.

Las Americas Premium Outlets

OCEAN BEACH— After several years operating in Yuma, Arizona, Ellie’s has popped up in San Diego where its wood-fired oven is now running Tuesday through Saturday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the backyard of a dog-friendly space decorated with vintage furniture. The restaurant’s menu of Neapolitan-style pizzas includes classics like pizza margherita along with house specialties ranging from Cleo’s Alfredo Sausage and Deebo’s Bacon Jalapeno to Ellie’e Elote with mozzarella, fire-roasted corn, and homemade garlic and chili oil, topped with cilantro, crema, cotija cheese, and Tajin. 4852 Voltaire Street.

NATIONAL CITY— Local chain Barrio Donas recently opened its third area location in the South Bay. Inspired by Mexican flavors and desserts, its doughnut menu includes favorites like churro, arroz con leche, and cocada as well as vegan options. Open daily at 6 a.m., the storefront also offers coffee and cinnamon-spiced atole and champurrado as well as breakfast tortas like the Buenos Dias stuffed with meat, scrambled eggs, beans, and mozzarella. 630 National City Boulevard.

UTC AREA— Conveying egg-based sandwiches that are all the rage in Korea, Egglet uses slices of brioche bread as the foundation for breakfast sandwiched filled with omelets, cheese, and shredded cabbage plus enhancements like turkey sausage, grilled ham, or smoked bacon. The store also cooks up a Korean barbecue cheeseburger and grilled shrimp sandwich that includes an over-medium egg, caramelized onions, and cheese. 7728 Regents Road #501.
