Sepulveda Meats & Provisions Now Serving Golden Hill

The neighborhood gets its own butcher shop.

Eater readers and Golden Hill residents have been eagerly awaiting the launch of Sepulveda Meats & Provisions; the 1,500-square-foot butcher shop opened its doors yesterday and will be operating from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Owner John Sepulveda, who is running the shop with his nephew, Nick Swing, told Eater that they are currently stocking a traditional selection of beef, pork and chicken, plus some lamb and deli meats; custom cuts may also be ordered.

A few pantry items, from seasonings to marinades, will be offered, as well as dried pasta. Sepulveda says he is talking with Little Italy's Pan Bon about carrying the Italian bakery's bread, which might serve as the foundation for a grab-and-go sandwich program that could get going in a few weeks.
