PyCon 2015 Schedule Announced!

The wait is over: PyCon 2015's schedule is available! The tutorial schedule has been available for several weeks now, and we made poster selections a while back as well, but we've completed the biggest part: scheduling 95 talks across three days in five rooms. https://us.pycon.org/2015/schedule/ It takes a lot of people to come up with this schedule, starting with those of you who submitted the 542 talk proposals we received. PyCon has always been a "what you make of it" sort of event, with so many people to talk to and things to do that it'd be hard to replicate the same experience twice, and that starts with these proposals. Thank you to everyone who submitted proposals this year. Another huge year for submissions means another great crew of volunteers gave a lot of their time to evaluate them. As with all things PyCon, a mixture of returning veterans worked with a set of first-timers, giving a lot of different viewpoints to bring us to this schedule. L...

PyCon 2015 Tutorial Schedule Announced

Tutorials Schedule After a busy few months of competitive reviews, the tutorials team within our program committee has completed their process and have come up with an awesome schedule… ta da!  https://us.pycon.org/2015/schedule/tutorials/ Led by Stuart Williams and Ruben Orduz, a fantastic team came together to shape this schedule, including Carol Willing, Ian Cordasco, Harry Percival, Allen Downey, Richard Jones, and Kenneth Love. Thanks to everyone for their efforts, both in reviewing and in submitting! Register for Tutorials On April 8 & 9, the two days preceding the conference talk dates, attendees have an opportunity to attend up to four different tutorials. Each day offers both a morning and afternoon session, each providing three hours of learning split by a snack break, with lunch in between the sessions. Our instructors come from a variety of backgrounds, including full time educators or trainers, authors, domain experts, and in a lot of cases, they've cre...

PyCon 2014 Schedule Now Available!

PyCon 2014   has released the schedule of   talks ,   tutorials , and   posters   for the April conference in Montréal, Quebec, Canada. The conference begins with two days of tutorials on Wednesday April 9 and 10, followed by three days of talks from Friday April 11 through 13, and ending with four days of sprints through April 17. The event will mark the first time the Python community's main conference travels outside of the US, following two sold-out events in 2012 and 2013 in Santa Clara, California. The tutorial schedule this year came from yet another large pool of submissions, with proposals covering a broad range of subjects. The selections represent an effort to offer both a mix of subjects covering a wide scope of expertise. Once again there are offerings for beginners through experts, including a tutorial for those with no Python knowledge whatsoever. With a group of presenters including several full-time educators, experienced trainers, and commun...

Sponsor Tutorial Schedule

As we announced on Friday, Sponsor Tutorials are a new event for PyCon 2013, and we’ve added them to the schedule on our site: https://us.pycon.org/2013/schedule/sponsor-tutorials/ . These workshops will run concurrently with our instructor-lead tutorials on March 13 and 14. The 90 minute sessions are lead by our sponsors and are being offered free of charge. They provide a great opportunity to learn something new from some of the coolest Python using companies around. The new schedule includes detail on each of the tutorials and profiles for each other presenters, just like we do for our tutorials and talks. You can now see that Mitch Garnaat will be taking you through the process of setting up an AWS application, and Jason Carr will help you plug Selenium into your Jenkins or Travis environments. Check out the full schedule for more detail from all of our awesome sponsors who are participating!

PyCon 2013 Schedule Now Available!

The long awaited PyCon 2013 schedule is now available! https://us.pycon.org/2013/schedule/ The tutorials had already been scheduled to allow for registration, but the talk schedule was the harder part to complete. We’ve now added another track, making for six of them, which raises the total talk count to 114 over the three days. It was a challenge to put all of the pieces together in logical groupings, to accommodate speaker availability, and to balance the 30 and 45 minute slot availability (a lot of people ask for 45, but as you can see, those are limited). Our Program Committee put in a lot of time and effort to make this happen, and the entire group of PyCon organizers thanks them. The schedule includes one problem we’re really happy to have to have again: you’re going to have to choose wisely where you go because, as always, all of these talks are excellent. Thankfully we have a really good video crew, so you won’t actually miss anything. Just check out the video arch...
