Why is Guero No. 1 Tortas one of the most hotly anticipated openings this winter? The telera rolls are baked daily, the meat is thoughtfully sourced, and those house-made touches—from habanero salsa, to Mexican street-style corn salad. But now the food cart is going big-time: taking over the 50-seat Tabla Pasta e Vino, located at 200 NE 28th Ave.
Guero No. 1 Tortas will be soft open starting tomorrow, February 8, The O reports. For those who want a sneak peak, it’ll be open for the next week daily, from 4 to 10 p.m. Starting February 15, the restaurant will add lunch and launch official hours, operating seven days a week, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Megan Sanchez and Alec Morrison founded Guero No. 1 Tortas in Portland in 2013. Along with its tortas, it serves bowls and sides, with vegetarian options.
