The aforementioned “revelation” is the lining, which means that you can run comfortably without wearing underwear, and keep your precious Sleepy Jones boxer briefs free from the general wear that tends to come from the sweat and stretching of a great run. When our reviewer (who hated lined shorts) tested them, he was converted: “As you run and sweat, there’s no chafing or rubbing or discomfort — you don’t forget the lining is there, but you do feel like you’re secured in the most sacred of places by a firm-yet-gentle force.” Not only that, but these shorts also have coveted zipper pockets, a surprising rarity in the men’s short game, which means no longer worrying that your iPhone is going to whizz out of your pocket as you round a curve of the Prospect Park loop.
