My job is to report on clothing basics and a few wardrobe accessories, so I’m constantly testing T-shirts, sweaters, fanny packs, work bags, and more. My research has often led me to Quince, a start-up I first discovered because of its ever-reliable essentials but also offers a vast (and growing) inventory spanning fashion, travel, home, kids, and more (it even just released caviar). The women’s clothing section has some of the deepest discounts. I spotted a gorgeous wool coat perfect for holiday parties and some easy-to-wear ponte pants. I also found more on-sale outerwear in men’s fashion and a boatload of nice-looking accessories for just about anyone. And don’t skimp on the home aisle, because there are Strategist-approved bamboo sheets for sweaty sleepers and some timeless tableware pieces, too.

In the women’s section, you can’t go wrong with knitwear, like Quince’s alpaca-wool-blend cardigan, or a pair of super-stretchy ponte work pants — all of which are more than 30 percent off right now. Men’s fashion
Over in the men’s section, I spotted these two outerwear options. The quilted jacket with a water-repellent finish is my favorite, and right now, it’s over 40 percent off. There are slim pickings in this section currently, but I’d check back on Black Friday. (Note: All items are final sale.)
Accessories
The accessories department is full of sleek, logo-free items that will outlast trends. I uncovered a 14-karat gold stacking ring and a cashmere wrap that can double as a chunky scarf.
