It seems New York City’s fascination with Mexico City isn’t letting up anytime soon. Recently, that was a Michelin-starred taqueria in Manhattan, now it's a beloved bakery. Panadería Rosetta, Mexico City’s most photographed bakery, known in particular for its rol de guayaba (guava pastries), is coming to New York for a pop-up. Panadería Rosetta’s owner-chef Elena Reygadas is teaming up with Atla, taking over the Noho restaurant from November 1 through 3, with their Pan de Muerto (they make 500 of daily in CDMX) for Dia de los Muertos; La Cabra coffee will also be available. Diners can make a reservation online or walk in.

A Soho spot defined by contemporary art is now open

One of the city’s most unusual restaurants has opened in Soho: Sibling to the one in Los Angeles, Manuela, at 130 Prince Street, at West Broadway, is named for Manuela Wirth, who, with her husband Iwan, co-founded Artfarm in Somerset, England (the restaurant is conveniently near the gallery, Hauser & Wirth, down the street and no doubt be spillover for art world client dinners). Inside, the restaurant is defined by works from multiple artists, incorporated into aspects of the bar and dining room. The menu leans seasonal — squash and stracciatella or pork collar with pickled long beans — with some items prepared in the wood-fired oven. Also? There’s an in-house composter: Diners can visit their composting contraption called “the rocket” in the kitchen. (Perhaps it’s a practical work of art.)

SJP eats close to home

In a restaurant that’s a regular spot for editors from Vogue, it makes sense that West Village resident Sarah Jessica Parker and the crew from And Just Like That filmed at Angie Mar’s Le B. (283 W. 12th Street, near Eighth Avenue) on Monday. The kitchen served them burgers, steaks, salad Chinoise, crepes Suzette, and citrus soufflés. Customers can order similar items via the tasting menu and a la carte, though, like Raoul’s, during dinner the luxe $42 burger (dry-aged and dressed with d’affinois cheese, caramelized onions, and a red wine sauce) is only available at the bar and it’s one burger per night per bar stool.
