Parran’s Po-Boys and Restaurant will bring its menu of classic Creole-Italian dishes and traditional po-boys to Prytania Street this May when it opens in the space that was briefly The Flying Pig restaurant, reports Ian McNulty.

The menu will be shorter than that at the original location, but Uptowners can definitely expect to feast on its “original seafood muffuletta” (a pile of fried seafood tucked into a muffeletta).

The Prytania Street location will be third location for the iconic po-boy shop that opened in Metairie in 1975. After 40 years, it expanded to Kenner at the end of 2015.

Despite many attempts to woo the Uptown neighborhood with odd-ball offerings like all-day bacon happy hour, previous tenant, The Flying Pig, closed after just over four months. Beloved neighborhood sushi spot, Kyoto, occupied the space for twenty years before that. It closed in October of 2016.
