The Wii Remote Jacket is an accessory designed for the Wii Remote, and came packaged with every Wii console. It is a flexible, plastic, translucent casing moulded in the shape of the remote for it to be slotted inside, and provides an extra layer of protection from physical collisions.
The jacket is designed to fit tightly. It features a textured surface to ensure a firm grip, reducing the risk of the remote slipping away during active usage.
The front surface of the jacket has two holes exposing the buttons on the remote. Similar holes are at the bottom for the expansion port used by the Nunchuk; the top for the infrared sensor; and the back side for the B/trigger button. The power button is covered but still accessible by applying pressure through the jacket. The battery compartment is fully enclosed which means the jacket must be removed to replace the batteries. Later jackets have an additional hole to access the external Sync button of the Wii Remote Plus.
