The Whiptongue Bulborb is a Pikmin enemy introduced in the game Pikmin 3 for the Wii U. It is a type of Bulborb with a brown spotted back and an anteater-like tongue. It was one of the first new enemies introduced.
Behavior[]
Whiptongue Bulborbs behave a lot like other Bulborbs. It tends to wait around and patrol a certain area looking for food and will start attacking as soon as it sees Pikmin. Its tongue gives it a lengthy range over other Bulborb species, but it is still avoidable and it takes longer to attack. Like other Bulborbs, its main weakness is its eyes, and attacking them will cause it to drop any Pikmin it has in its tongue. Attacking its back is also a fair strategy as it cannot reach there,
Notes[]
Pikmin 3 Website[]
"Part of the Bulborb family, it has an extra long tongue, giving it more range to grab its prey."
Pikimin 3 Prima Guide[]
"As its name implies, the Whiptongue Bulborb uses its long tongue to snatch up any Pikmin unfortunate enough to be caught in the attack. When you encounter a Whiptongue Bulborb, flank the creature and send your Pikmin charging in to attack."
