Sniper Elite III is a tactical third person shooter released by Rebellion Developments. It is the third entry in the Sniper Elite series following up Sniper Elite V2 as a prequel. It was originally planned for the Wii U but, it eventually got cancelled. The Ultimate Edition released on the Nintendo Switch including all the DLC.

The game takes place 3 years prior to the last entry, fllowing the exploits of sniper Karl Fairbune in the North African conflict of World War II. The game starts during the Battle of Gazala where Karl has to assassinate General Franz Vahlen and uncover his secret project. He helps the British repel General Rommel's forces but, they ultimately lose the port. Karl then heads to the Gaberoune oasis to reveal Vahlen's whereabouts from Nazi officers. However, the only thing he finds is the document revealing the name of Vahlen's project, Project Seuche.
