Shadow Force (シャドーダイブ, Shadow Dive) is a damage-dealing Ghost-type move introduced in the fourth generation. It is Giratina's signature move.
Effect[]
The user will vanish during the first turn, rendering it semi-invulnerable. On the second turn, the user will deal damage to the target, Shadow Force bypass any protection move and remove protection moves that affects the opponent's whole side of the field, like Wide Guard. Protection moves are not removed if Shadow Force doesn't affect the target. Additionally, the user is not affected by protection moves that deals negative effects on contact like Spiky Shield If the user is put asleep for whatever reason during the first turn, the move will stop. The user can still be hit by Pokémon with the No Guard ability.
During Gen VI, Shadow Force used to bypass accuracy checks and deal double damage to Pokémon that used Minimize, this was removed during Gen VII.
